The Mets transferred Raley (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Raley isn't expected to return to a big-league mound until the second half of the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery last May, so his move to the 60-day IL has no impact on his return timeline. It will, however, clear space on the 40-man roster for Chris Devenski, who was selected from Triple-A Syracuse to replace the injured Danny Young (elbow).

The Mets placed Raley (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Raley is still working his way back from Tommy John surgery but signed back with the Mets earlier this month as he nears a return to the mound. He'll continue to build his arm back up over the next couple months.

Raley (elbow) signed a one-year contract with the Mets on Friday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Raley's new contract also includes a club option for 2026. He threw a bullpen session in front of several teams' scouts last week, and the Mets liked what they saw enough to bring the 36-year-old lefty back into their organization. He appeared in eight games for the Mets last season, striking out nine batters through seven scoreless innings before undergoing Tommy John surgery in May. He still likely has a few more months to go in his rehab before he'll be ready to pitch in a game.

Raley (elbow) threw a bullpen session in front of multiple teams Friday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Raley appeared in eight regular-season games for the Mets in 2024 before undergoing Tommy John surgery in May. His bullpen session indicates that he's closing in on completing his recovery, and the 36-year-old southpaw could be ready to reinforce a big-league bullpen after the All-Star break. Raley's last full season came in 2023 with the Mets, when he posted a 2.80 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 25 holds and 61:25 K:BB across 54.2 innings.

The Mets transferred Raley (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
One month ago, Raley underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery with an internal brace augmentation, so his move to the 60-day IL was merely procedural. As a result of the transaction, the Mets were able to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Matt Festa, who was called up from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of Sunday's game against the Astros.

Raley (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery with an internal brace augmentation Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the Mets didn't list a timetable for Raley's return, the timing of the operation would seem to point to him being out until the second half of the 2025 season. Raley made just eight appearances in 2024, collecting a 9:3 K:BB across seven scoreless innings.

Raley will undergo Tommy John surgery sometime next week, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Raley was diagnosed with a strained UCL in his left elbow last Wednesday, and although manager Carlos Mendoza had said the lefty's UCL was healing, Raley will elect to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery. The 35-year-old will finish the year with a perfect 0.00 ERA alongside a 9:3 K:BB through seven innings, and he will likely be sidelined until the second half of the 2025 campaign.

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Raley was diagnosed with a UCL strain in his left elbow after undergoing further imaging, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mendoza noted that Raley's UCL is healing, but the Mets will shut him down for two weeks before re-evaluating him, at which point the team will determine next steps. The left-hander has been on the injured list since April 21 and was initially expected to be activated after the 15-day minimum, but he hasn't made any significant progress toward a return to throwing.

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Friday that Raley (elbow) is "not close" to throwing and will be seeing another doctor, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Raley hasn't received much good news since being placed on the 15-day IL on Apr. 21, initially being expected to return as soon as eligible before having his return date extended. Mendoza said May 2 that they'd be taking it slow with Raley, as it seems the inflammation in Raley's throwing elbow isn't healing as expected. With Raley set to see a specialist later this week, keep an eye out for an update on his status.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Thursday that Raley (elbow) is no longer on track to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible Sunday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. "We're going to take it slow [with Raley]," Mendoza said.
EDGE Analysis
Raley was placed on the shelf April 21 with left elbow inflammation, and while Mendoza didn't indicate that the southpaw has experienced any setbacks since being shut down, the left-hander doesn't seem to be progressing as quickly as anticipated, either. He'll be sent in for further imaging in the coming days as a precaution, and he could start ramping up his throwing program thereafter. Raley was one of the Mets' top setup men in 2023 and had gotten off to a strong start to 2024 before landing on the IL, striking out nine over seven scoreless innings while allowing just five baserunners and collecting four holds and one win.
