Johnson was scratched from Friday's start due to shoulder fatigue, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
There was tons of speculation that the scratch was a response to the David Price (elbow) injury earlier in the day, but apparently there's also an injury in play for the minor-league hurler as well. However, those close to the situation don't expect Johnson to land on the minor-league disabled list due to this issue, so consider him day-to-day for now. If he does get back on the mound soon, though, there is a good chance he could head to Boston to provide a fresh arm at some point in August.

Johnson is a likely candidate to start for Boston on Tuesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
David Price hit the disabled list with elbow inflammation Friday, but the Red Sox were able to bump up the rest of the rotation with the off day Thursday. Boston recalled reliever Robby Scott and can get through the weekend without making another move, but will need a fifth starter (likely Johnson) by Tuesday.

Johnson has been scratched from his scheduled start for Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
With David Price headed to the disabled list with elbow soreness, Johnson will presumably be Price's replacement for the Red Sox on Friday, although that is not for certain. The 26-year-old has a 4.33 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over 27 innings during four stints with Boston this season.

Johnson is expected to start in place of David Price (forearm/elbow) on Friday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson is at Triple-A Pawtucket but could soon be on his way to toe the rubber against the Royals with Price's future availability suddenly uncertain. If Price needs an extended absence, Johnson would be a candidate to fill the void, but don't immediately assume he'd handle the task by himself.

Johnson was sent down to Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson will head right back to Pawtucket after getting recalled prior to his start Tuesday. The 26-year-old went six innings during the no-decision, allowing three runs off eight hits and three walks while recording four strikeouts. That marked the fifth appearance on the mound for Johnson in the big leagues this year. He has dominated at the Triple-A level, posting a 2.89 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP over 56 innings of work, and could return to the Red Sox in the near future.

Johnson allowed three runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson did not show the same form he had when he blanked the Mariners on May 27, as the left-hander was in and out of trouble through all six innings against the Blue Jays. He managed to limit the damage to a three-run fifth inning and was long gone by the time Hanley Ramirez ended a 15-inning marathon with a walk-off home run. Tuesday's outing is expected to be a one-and-done start for Johnson. The Red Sox are likely to call up another reliever to support a staff that's been asked to pitch 58 innings over the past five days.

Johnson was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Evan Drellich of CSN New England reports.
EDGE Analysis
Due to a scheduling quirk to open the second half along with a desire to build in some extra rest for ace Chris Sale, the Red Sox will have Johnson serve as one of their seven starting pitchers for seven games this week. It's expected that manager John Farrell will scale back the rotation to its usual five-man setup the following week, so Johnson is fully expected to return to Triple-A after Tuesday's outing. In his other four starts this season with the Red Sox, Johnson has compiled a 4.29 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 21 innings.

Johnson will be recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket to start Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Doug Fister was originally scheduled to pitch Tuesday, but that plan was scrapped after he was forced to cover 2.2 innings in relief in Saturday's 16-inning loss to the Yankees. As a result, Johnson will move up to the big leagues for what will likely just be a spot start. Johnson tossed a complete-game shutout May 27 in one of his four starts with the Red Sox this season, but has otherwise been mediocre, failing to last more than five innings in any other of his three turns.

Johnson (3-1) allowed three hits and two walks while striking out two over seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
In his first start since being activated off the disabled list, Johnson needed just 90 pitches, throwing 57 of them for strikes, and lowered his ERA to 2.68. It was the left-hander at his best, hitting spots with his pedestrian fastball and throwing the curveball for strikes. Johnson will remain with the PawSox until the Red Sox need a spot starter or there's an injury in the parent club's rotation.

Johnson (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list and sent to Triple-A Pawtucket, Tim Britton of The Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson tossed three innings of lackluster ball in a rehab start with the PawSox, and although the Red Sox recognized his clean bill of health, it seems that they want him to get more seasoning before making a full return to the big leagues. It wouldn't be too surprising to see him back in the big leagues after the All-Star break if the Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) experiences any setbacks in his recovery, but for now, Johnson will continue to dwell in the minors and develop further as a starter.
