Flynn was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Flynn was a big part of the Royals' 2016 bullpen, but struggles at the Triple-A level this season have kept him from emerging at the major-league level. He'll come up to provide bullpen depth now, however, as he looks to bring back his performance from 2016.

Flynn (back) was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Monday, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander injured his back prior to the start of spring training, and will have to earn his way back onto the 25-man roster. Should he secure a promotion, Flynn could provide some help for a Kansas City bullpen that ranks 12th in the AL with an ERA of 4.51. The 27-year-old posted a 2.60 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 44 strikeouts across 55.1 innings out of the Royals' bullpen last season .

Flynn (back) is set to come off the 60-day disabled list Sunday, at which point the Royals may choose to place him back on the 40-man roster, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hunter Dozier recently went down at Triple-A Omaha with a possible season-ending wrist injury, and the Royals may opt to replace him on the 40-man with Flynn. The latter has been on a rehab assignment with Omaha for nearly a month with mixed results, but Flynn performed admirably (2.60 ERA) over 36 games for the Royals last year.

Flynn (back) is scheduled to pitch his first rehab game for Triple-A Omaha on Saturday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flynn is finally ready for game action after falling through a barn and injuring himself in mid-February. The 27-year-old isn't guaranteed a spot on the big-league roster upon his return from the DL, so his rehab assignment could prove to be crucial. More information regarding the next step in his recovery should be available following his first start Saturday.

Flynn (back) is still throwing at extended spring training but is getting close to embarking on a rehab assignment, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flynn has been sidelined since mid-February after falling through the roof of his barn, but it seems like he's finally on the verge of getting back into game action. Despite this development, he isn't guaranteed a return trip to the big leagues once he's back to full health, although more information on his return date and where he'll play should come forth once he gets into his rehab assignment.

Flynn (ribs) -- who appeared in 36 games for the Royals last season -- is likely to be stashed in the minors, as the club takes advantage of his one remaining option, once activated from the DL, Patrick Brennan of Fansided reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flynn provided 55.1 serviceable innings for the Royals in 2016, posting a top-20 ERA among relievers with at least 50 innings. The left-hander did benefit from the fourth-lowest BABIP (.228) among that same group, although it's tough to slam the 27-year-old's 2.60 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over such a solid sample size. Flynn has yet to begin a throwing program, so regardless of where he's assigned, the reliever is from returning to a MLB mound.

Flynn (ribs) has also been diagnosed with a lumbar vertebal fracture and was placed on the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals revealed earlier this week that Flynn fractured his rib after falling through the roof of his barn, but it appears he may have also wrenched his back in the process. Flynn was initially given an eight-week recovery timetable, but his placement on the 60-day DL means that he'll now be sidelined through at least early June. Even if Flynn is fully recovered from the injury by mid-April, he'd still probably need at least a month to rebuild arm strength and improve his conditioning, so it's probably a prudent move for the Royals to delay a potential return until June while opening up a 40-man roster spot in the process.

Flynn fell through the roof of his barn and suffered a broken rib, among other injuries, Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury will cause Flynn to miss up to eight weeks, so he will be headed for the disabled list for the start of the season. The 26-year-old posted a 2.60 ERA across 55.1 innings last season with the Royals.

Flynn (1-1) lasted just 2.1 innings and gave up three runs on four hits and a walk in a loss Tuesday to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Forced to make a spot start after spending all season in the bullpen, Flynn was going to be limited regardless, but the Royals were certainly hoping for more out of him. The major blow was a two-run first inning home run from Mike Napoli, despite that Flynn had allowed just two home runs in 13 relief appearances this year. If Flynn holds his rotation slot, his next start will come Monday against the Angels.

Flynn is listed as the Royals' starter for Tuesday's matchup with the Indians, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday's starter had been up in the air, but it looks as though the ball will be in the hands of Flynn, who was unavailable out of the bullpen Sunday, likely in preparation for the start. The left-hander has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen this season, registering a 2.39 ERA across 26.1 innings (13 appearances).
