Wisely will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Wisely has now picked up starts in consecutive contests to close out the weekend, and he should be in store for a strong-side platoon role at the keystone after the Giants recently moved Thairo Estrada off the 40-man roster. Over 218 plate appearances with the big club this season, Wisely has supplied a .250/.286/.368 slash line to go with three home runs and two stolen bases.

The Giants recalled Wisely from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants elected to outright Thairo Estrada to Triple-A after he cleared waivers Friday, so Wisely will now come up from the minors to replenish San Francisco's infield depth. The 25-year-old has slashed .249/.285/.363 with 24 RBI across 215 plate appearances in the majors this year, though he's gone 10-for-37 with two homers and seven RBI since returning to Sacramento on Aug. 19. As a left-handed hitter, he'll likely form a platoon at second base with the righty-hitting Casey Schmitt.

The Giants optioned Wisely to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move makes room on the 26-man roster for the reinstatement of Thairo Estrada (wrist) from the 10-day injured list. Wisely has been with the big club since May, but he saw his playing time diminish since the All-Star break, a span in which he's slashed .167/.207/.204 with six RBI across 56 plate appearances. Wisely will have an every day role in Sacramento, and he could return to the majors should the Giants need infield depth.

Wisely went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Wisely has offered little production in July with no home runs, three RBI, two runs scored and one steal on three attempts over 17 games. The infielder also has a 2:17 BB:K this month. The emergence of Tyler Fitzgerald at shortstop has left Wisely to compete with Thairo Estrada for playing time at second base, a situation where Wisely has the platoon advantage.
