Baty is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
For the first time since the All-Star break, the left-handed-hitting Baty will hit the bench while the Mets face a right-handed starter (Slade Cecconi). Absences from the lineup against righties could begin to become the norm for Baty, who will face more competition for reps in the infield with Thursday's acquisition of center fielder Cedric Mullins expected to result in Jeff McNeil seeing the majority of his playing time at second base moving forward. With both McNeil (.774 OPS versus righties) and Ronny Mauricio (.886 OPS) outproducing Baty (.729 OPS) in those matchups this season, Baty no longer looks like the top choice to pick up starts at either the keystone or third base.

Baty is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Baty will head to the bench for the second time in the series, both of which have come against left-handed starters. He could be at risk of losing starts versus right-handers too, as Jeff McNeil will see more time in the infield after the Mets acquired center fielder Cedric Mullins from the Orioles on Thursday, giving Ronny Mauricio one fewer path to playing time. Baty, Mauricio and Mark Vientos will battle for starts at third base, but Mauricio's .886 OPS this season against righties is well ahead of Baty's .729 OPS in that split.

Baty went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, a walk and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-5 win against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old opened the scoring for his team with a 404-foot, two-run blast off Los Angeles lefty Tyler Anderson in the fourth. This marks the first long ball Baty has hit off a southpaw this season, as he appears to be emerging from a strong-side platoon role into an everyday one, drawing consecutive starts against left-handers. Through 255 total plate appearances, Baty is slashing .237/.295/.431 with 33 RBI and 26 runs scored.

Baty is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Baty was included in the lineup Saturday while southpaw Angel Zerpa opened the game for Kansas City, but the young infielder will head to the bench Sunday against lefty starter Noah Cameron. Luisangel Acuna will replace Baty at second base and will bat ninth.

Baty isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Baty will get a breather Saturday after going 2-for-4 with a home run in Friday's series opener. His absence will give Jeff McNeil a start at second base, opening up center field for Tyrone Taylor.

Baty went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old infielder cracked his ninth home run of the season and his first since June 14. With Mark Vientos continuing to struggle -- he owns a .636 OPS in 2025 -- the door remains open for Baty to settle into a strong-side platoon role at third base going forward. Even so, Baty hasn't performed much better at the plate this year, as he's slashing just .224/.275/.410 with seven doubles, two triples and 29 RBI over 223 plate appearances.

Baty is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
After he recently missed out on three straight starts due to a groin injury, Baty returned to the lineup this weekend and went 0-for-8 with a walk and a run scored while covering third base in the first two contests of the series. He's not believed to be dealing with any sort of setback with the groin injury, as his absence from the lineup Sunday likely has more to do with southpaw Jesus Luzardo taking the hill for the Phillies. Baty has produced a lowly .420 OPS thus far in June, and he could be at risk of losing out on playing time against right-handed pitching when Mark Vientos (hamstring) likely returns from the injured list during the upcoming week.

Baty (groin) is starting at third base and batting eighth Friday against the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Baty appeared to be in danger of heading to the injured list due to the groin injury, but he'll end up rejoining the lineup Friday after sitting out a few games. The third baseman has yet to get on track in June, as he's gone 6-for-44 (.136 average) through 14 games.

Baty (groin) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta, but he could be available off the bench, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ronny Mauricio will pick up a third consecutive start at third base while Baty sits due to a groin injury he suffered Sunday. The Mets were considering placing Baty on the injured list Wednesday, but he arrived at the ballpark Thursday feeling much better and showed improvement during pregame drills. That bodes well for his chances of avoiding a stint on the injured list, but it remains unclear when he'll be cleared to appear in a game again.

Baty was unavailable off the bench for Wednesday's game against Atlanta and may be placed on the injured list if he doesn't show any improvement Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Baty hasn't played since Sunday due to his groin injury, and he's been progressing more slowly in his recovery than the Mets originally expected. If he's still unable to play Thursday or doesn't at least show significant improvement, the Mets may opt to place him on the IL, which would keep him sidelined through at least June 26.
