Workman (0-1) took the loss against the Mets on Thursday, retiring only one batter while allowing three runs on three hits and striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
Workman entered the contest in the ninth inning with the score knotted at six and surrendered a home run to Brandon Nimmo on the second pitch of his outing. He was unable to settle down thereafter, allowing two more hits -- including a run-scoring triple -- before exiting the contest. While Workman has converted five of six save opportunities since joining Philadelphia, he has been far from the shutdown closer the Phillies had hoped for. Over 11 appearances with the team, Workman has allowed eight earned runs and 18 hits over 10.1 innings while posting a troublesome 11:8 K:BB.

Workman (1-2) took the loss and blew the save against Miami on Thursday, pitching one inning and allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
Workman was called upon to protect a three-run lead in the bottom of the eighth inning with the bases loaded. He allowed all three inherited runners to score on a Starling Marte double, then walked Jesus Aguilar before registering his first out. The shaky outing continued in the ninth when Workman gave up the winning run on a pair of singles and a walk. Since joining the Phillies on Aug. 21, Workman has successfully converted five of seven save chances while surrendering five earned runs and issuing a concerning eight walks in 10.1 innings. That might be enough to allow him to cling to the closer role, but not without considerable risk.

Workman struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his ninth save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old appears to be settling in as the Phillies' closer. Workman has converted five straight save chances, and over his last six appearances he's posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB.

Workman allowed one hit, one walk and struck out one during a scoreless ninth inning as he earned the fourth save Wednesday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Workman retired the first two batters he faced but then allowed a double to Kurt Suzuki and walked Brock Holt before getting Luis Garcia to ground out to end the game. Workman now owns a 4.50 ERA and has converted four of his five save chances since being traded to Philadelphia on Aug. 21.

Workman allowed one hit and one walk while recording one strikeout during a scoreless ninth inning to record the save Saturday against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
It was hardly an proficient performance as he delivered only nine of his 19 pitches for strikes, but the right-hander was able to keep the Braves off the board all the same. Workman has now made five appearances since being acquired by the Phillies Aug. 21, and he's converted three of four save chances with two runs allowed on 10 hits with six strikeouts and four walks over 5.1 innings. Overall this season he has a 4.09 ERA and 2.18 WHIP over 12 outings between Boston and Philadelphia.

Workman pitched a scoreless ninth, allowing two hits but also striking out two as he picked up his second save in a Phillies uniform Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Workman allowed a leadoff double to Howie Kendrick in the ninth and quickly found himself in a jam with runners on the corners and one out. Fortunately, the right-hander was able to work himself out of trouble by striking out the next two hitters to earn his sixth save of the season (second with Philadelphia).

Workman allowed a run on two hits and a walk in one inning, picking up the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Workman had two outs and two runners on when Freddie Freeman doubled in Adeiny Hechavarria to cut the Phillies' lead to one. Dansby Swanson was out on a play at the plate, which prevented Workman from blowing his second save chance since he was traded from the Red Sox. Workman hasn't made it easy, allowing eight baserunners in 2.1 innings with the Phillies. He was brought in to be the closer, but Hector Neris could continue getting looks if Workman doesn't clean up his pitching.

Workman (0-1) took the loss and blew his first save of the season Saturday as the Phillies fell 6-5 to Atlanta, getting charged with one run on four hits and a walk over 1.1 innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Philadelphia's newest late-inning arm fit right in with the rest of the team's combustible bullpen in his first appearance since coming over from the Red Sox. Hector Neris started the eighth inning protecting a 4-2 lead but immediately gave up three straight hits and a run before recording an out. Workman then got the call to replace him and gave up a two-run double to Matt Adams on his first pitch to blow the save. The Phillies rallied in the top of the ninth to tie things up, but the right-hander then finished the implosion with a messy bottom of the frame that saw him load the bases before Adam Duvall delivered a walkoff single. It's not clear whether manager Joe Girardi will turn to Neris or Workman in the next save situation, but the former Boston closer could hardly have made a worse first impression on his new skipper.

Workman was traded from the Red Sox to the Phillies on Friday in exchange for Nick Pivetta and Connor Seabold.
EDGE Analysis
While Workman should play a fairly prominent role in the Phillies' bullpen, his fantasy value could take a hit since Hector Neris has been the closer in Philadelphia. Workman made seven relief appearances for the Red Sox this season, posting a 4.05 ERA and 1.80 WHIP over 6.2 innings while converting on each of his four save chances. Neris has struggled recently, which could open the door for Workman to compete for save chances in Philadelphia. Matt Barnes could be the favorite for save chances with the Red Sox in the near future.

Workman retired all three batters he faced and had one strikeout during a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday versus Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander came into Wednesday having pitched only one time since Aug. 8, but he needed only 11 pitches to retire the Phillies in order. Workman has converted all four of his save chances and has allowed three runs on eight hits with an 8:4 K:BB through 6.2 innings this season.
