Nimmo has a sore right shoulder, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo isn't particularly concerned about the issue, calling it "early-season soreness," but the discomfort was enough for him to avoid throwing during defensive drills Wednesday. The extent of the injury should become clear in the next few days. The Mets open Grapefruit League on Saturday against the Braves, and whether or not Nimmo is in the lineup could hint at the team's level of concern.

Nimmo is expected play primarily center field to begin the season, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Yoenis Cespedes (heel) set to open the season on the shelf, it sounds like the Mets are planning to deploy Jeff McNeil as their primary left fielder, pushing Michael Conforto to right field and Nimmo to center field, at least against right-handers. McNeil will likely platoon with the likes of Keon Broxton and Juan Lagares, which could push Nimmo to a corner outfield spot against southpaws. Regardless of where he plays, the soon-to-be 26-year-old figures to see his fair share of opportunities after slashing .263/.404/.483 with 17 homers and nine steals in 140 games in 2018.

Manager Mickey Callaway said Tuesday that Nimmo (hamstring) "needs to be leading off" in 2019, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's an unsurprising declaration to hear from the Mets manager, as Nimmo started 65 games as the leadoff hitter and had a .404 OBP and 15.0-percent walk rate in 2018. The 25-year-old's plate discipline doesn't appear to be an aberration either, as he posted a similar walk rate in 69 games with the Mets the previous season. The acquisition of veteran second baseman Robinson Cano (knee) should also help the young outfielder in his run-scoring efforts.

Nimmo needed to be helped off the field while leaving Saturday's game in the seventh inning, sustaining an apparent right leg injury after running to first, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
The outfielder was replaced by pinch runner Jack Reinheimer after what Marc Carig of The Athletic suspects is a hamstring issue. The Mets should release information on Nimmo's status during or after what remains of this game, and it wouldn't be surprising if he sat out during the club's season finale Sunday.

Nimmo went 1-for-2 with a walk and a three-run homer in Saturday's loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo was also hit by a pitch. He put the Mets up 3-1 with his long ball off starter Rick Porcello in the fourth inning, but the Red Sox responded with four runs in the fifth inning en route to the victory. The 25-year-old outfielder is now hitting .267/.395/.499 with 17 homers and nine stolen bases through 127 games this season.

Nimmo is not in the lineup Monday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo has started five straight games since returning from the disabled list at the end of August, slashing .278/.381/.333 across those contests. He'll give way to Jay Bruce in right field for Monday's series opener.

Nimmo (finger) was activated from the disabled list Tuesday and will bat eighth and play right field against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo missed just over the minimum with a bruised left index finger. In the nine games prior to the injury, he was hitting an excellent .484/.556/.935, so it's a bit of a surprise to see him batting eighth after hitting no lower than sixth earlier in the season.

Nimmo (finger) will be activated form the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo is with the Mets, and while he was originally expected to rejoin the team prior to Monday's series opener against the Cubs, the team opted to give him one more day before activating him. Assuming the outfielder is back in the Mets' starting lineup Tuesday, Nimmo will have missed just 12 games while on the DL with a bruised left index finger.

The Mets are expected to activate Nimmo (finger) from the 10-day disabled list prior to Monday's series opener against the Cubs, SNY.tv reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo started in center field Saturday in a rehab game for Triple-A Las Vegas, playing seven innings and finishing 1-for-3 with a stolen base. He's expected to rest Sunday before rejoining the Mets in Chicago a day later, at which point he should immediately slot back into the starting nine. Nimmo will have missed only the minimum amount of time due to the bruised left index finger, which he sustained when he was hit by a pitch on a check swing.

Nimmo (finger) began a rehab assignment with High-A St. Lucie on Saturday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo has been out for eight days with a bruised left index finger. He's eligible to return Monday against the Cubs and appears to be in line to do so, barring setbacks.
