Morrow (shoulder) returned to San Diego on Monday to undergo an MRI on his shoulder, the San Diego Union Tribune reports. Morrow exited his rehab start with Double-A San Antonio on Sunday after just 49 pitches due to discomfort in the shoulder, and now it appear the setback could be somewhat serious in nature. While he continues to rehab the issue, the Padres will likely continue to turn to Odrisamer Despaigne in his place.

Morrow left his rehab start with Double-A San Antonio on Sunday after 49 pitches due to discomfort in right shoulder, Corey Brock of MLB.com reports. After Morrow's latest setback, it's unclear when the former first-round pick will find his way back to the active roster. Before his injury, Morrow was pitching well (2.73 ERA in 33 innings), but this may afford Odrisamer Despaigne a couple more turns in the starting rotation.

Morrow (shoulder) left Sunday's rehab start with Double-A San Antonio due to shoulder soreness, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Morrow allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk over 2.2 innings, striking out three batters along the way. He seemed to be targeting a return in early-to-mid June, but the setback with his shoulder will likely push that timeline back. While it remains to be seen if Morrow will be shut down, he'll likely need to make another rehab start or two, at the very least.

Morrow (shoulder) is scheduled to make a rehab start with Double-A San Antonio on Tuesday, Corey Brock of MLB.com reports. Upon completion of a side session Saturday, which came on the heels of a three-inning simulated game Thursday, Morrow received the green light to begin a minor league rehab assignment. Morrow will be capped at around 60 pitches Tuesday, meaning he'll likely need to get through at least one additional rehab start before being activated.

Morrow (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a side session Saturday, MLB.com's Bill Center reports. Manager Bud Black was satisfied with how Morrow came out of his simulated game and will now have the right-hander turn his sights to beginning a rehab assignment. The side session will amount to a final tune-up before the Padres decide which affiliate Morrow will report to for his first start, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.

Morrow (shoulder) successfully completed three innings of a simulated game Thursday, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Morrow will likely require two rehab games before rejoining the rotation, but the plan should be solidified over the weekend. Barring a setback, a mid-June return seems like a possible return target at this point.

Morrow (shoulder) will pitch a simulated game Thursday, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Morrow had a positive bullpen session over the weekend and will look to carry that momentum forward into this simulated game. If all goes well, he could head out on a rehab assignment next week and be back with the Padres in early-to-mid June. Before hitting the DL, Morrow was off to a strong start in his first season with San Diego, showing improved control while pitching to a 2.73 ERA over 33 innings.

Morrow (shoulder) will throw his first bullpen session Thursday since being placed on the 15-day DL, Dennis Lin of the Union-Tribune reports. Morrow received a cortisone shot in his shoulder last week and will take the next step in his rehab process by throwing a bullpen session Thursday. It still looks as though Morrow won't be back in San Diego's rotation until early-to-mid June at this point, however.
