Marsh has yet to get any defensive reps this spring, but he is expected to make his outfield debut in about a week, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marsh has been held back defensively as he continues to recover from a shoulder labrum injury that he suffered last season. However, the 23-year-old has been swinging the bat, going 2-for-8 with a triple and an RBI in a DH role. It appears that he'll be ready to play the field soon, allowing him to potentially test the shoulder in Cactus League action. Marsh is expected to be moved to the team's alternate training site prior to Opening Day and to kick off the campaign at Triple-A. He could get his first big-league call-up this season.

Marsh (arm) has been playing catch out to 90 feet, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels' top prospect was listed as an available reserve for Wednesday's game, but it sounds like he would be limited to DH duties at the moment. He was unlikely to make the Opening Day roster in any case, but once he's fully healthy, he could push for a first-half promotion.

Marsh (arm) is listed among the Angels' available reserve players for Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Marsh may not be ready to play the outfield while he works his way through a throwing program, but he should be an option to replace starting designated hitter Max Stassi at some point during Wednesday's game. The 23-year-old is expected to open the 2021 season at Triple-A Salt Lake after slashing .300/.383/.428 over 412 plate appearances at Double-A Mobile in his last minor-league season in 2019.

Marsh (arm) began a throwing program Sunday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marsh has been dealing with an unspecified arm issue and has been limited to designated hitter duties thus far in camp. If he he's cleared to take the field soon, he could be ready to play by Opening Day, though he isn't likely to be under consideration to break camp with the team as he's yet to play above Double-A.

Marsh (arm) is getting closer to seeing time in the outfield, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marsh has been limited to DH duties thus far in spring due to what has been described as a minor arm issue. He has collected one hit -- a triple -- in three Cactus League at-bats and appears just about ready to get some reps in the outfield.

Marsh has been limited to DH thus far in spring training due to a minor issue with his arm, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Joe Maddon described Marsh as having a "little bit of an issue with his arm," though he did not specify the nature or severity of the issue. Marsh struck out as a pinch hitter in Tuesday's contest, so the problem does not appear to be affecting his ability to swing the bat. Marsh is likely to begin 2021 at the Triple-A level but could make his big-league debut by season's end.

Marsh's contract was purchased by the Angels on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
As the team's top prospect with Jo Adell no longer prospect eligible, Marsh was a lock to be protected from the Rule 5 draft. He is an outfielder by trade but started working a little at first base at the alternate training site in order to give himself more avenues to break through with the big club. Marsh figures to debut sometime during the 2021 season.

Marsh may not make his major-league debut in 2020 due to the Angels' current outfield depth, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Angels clinging to fading hopes of a playoff spot, their outlook on calling up prospects over the final few weeks of the season could change depending on their place in the standings. As it stands, they have a fairly set outfield with Mike Trout, Jo Adell and the resurgent Justin Upton playing on a near-everyday basis. Marsh has been getting reps at first base at the team's alternate training site, though the fact that he has yet to play an intrasquad game at that position suggests that he is far from ready to do so at the major-league level.

Marsh has been getting reps at first base at the Angels' alternate training site in Long Beach, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's doubtful that the Angels are considering converting Marsh to the infield given his above-average defensive skills in the outfield, but becoming comfortable at first base could accelerate the 22-year-old's ascension to the majors considering the team's lack of depth at the position. While the big-league outfield includes Mike Trout, Jo Adell and a current platoon of Justin Upton and Brian Goodwin, the team does not have a true first-base option on the active roster to back up the aging Albert Pujols. Marsh isn't far from reaching the majors, and developing the ability to fill in at first could help him log more playing time once he gets there.

Marsh was activated from the 10-day IL and is training with the Angels' alternate training camp.
EDGE Analysis
Marsh was placed on the 10-day injured list for undisclosed reasons at the start of summer camp, but was then removed when the regular season began. Marsh is on the 60-man player pool, but not on the 40-man roster, which makes it unlikely he'll be called up to the majors in the near term. However, after posting an .811 OPS in 96 games for Double-A Mobile, he could be a factor if the Angels need to make an aggressive move in the outfield this year. However, he's more likely to contend for a job in 2021.
