Tigers transferred LHP Brad Thomas from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
Thomas was sent outright to Triple-A Toledo earlier this month, but that transaction was voided. The 33-year-old southpaw is currently resting an elbow injury and may eventually need surgery.

Dr. James Andrews advised Brad Thomas (elbow) to rest for four weeks before a decision is made about surgery.
If surgery is required, Andrews will operate to remove a tiny spur and check on the cartilage. Thomas, 33, was originally placed on the disabled list in May with left elbow inflammation after posting a 9.00 ERA over 12 relief appearances. He was removed from the Tigers' 40-man roster earlier this month.

Brad Thomas (elbow) resumed his rehab with Triple-A Toledo Friday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 1/3 of an inning.
It's an awfully ugly line, so hopefully his elbow feels OK. Thomas appeared to be finished with his rehab last week before he felt renewed soreness in his elbow. He'll probably need at least a couple more appearances.

Brad Thomas (elbow) will resume his rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo soon.
The Tigers were ready to activate Thomas earlier this week, but his elbow tightened up on him and they sent him to get checked out. Tests revealed no structural damage, but they'll give him more time in the minors to make sure he's OK.

Brad Thomas is having his left elbow examined Wednesday by Tigers team physicians.
Thomas has been on a minor league rehab assignment for close to two weeks, but his injured left elbow is still giving him trouble and the Tigers want to be sure it's structurally sound before allowing the reliever to continue. He's expected to be shopped on the trade market next month.

Brad Thomas (elbow) struck out the side Monday in his latest minor league rehab appearance with Triple-A Toledo.
Thomas now has a 2.00 ERA and 10/4 K/BB ratio over nine innings with the Mud Hens. He's scheduled to pitch another inning Tuesday before being reevaluated. The 33-year-old left-hander has been been sidelined since May 11 with elbow inflammation.
