Dalbec went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Dalbec was responsible for all of Boston's offense Saturday, launching a second-inning solo shot off Alek Manoah. It was his eighth home run of the season and his third in July. The first baseman picked up two hits in the contest after going hitless in his last three appearances. He has struggled throughout the season, but July has been especially rough for Dalbec, who has 22 strikeouts and 10 hits. He is carrying a .210 batting average after Saturday's contest. In addition to his work at first base, Dalbec may get starts at third base while Rafael Devers (hamstring) is on the 10-day injured list.

Dalbec is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thanks to the Red Sox facing a few lefties of late in addition to Rafael Devers, J.D. Martinez and Trevor Story having all missed games with minor injuries, Dalbec had started in each of the past six contests. Story (hand) remains out Thursday, but with Devers and Martinez healthy and right-hander Drew Rasmussen on the bump for Tampa Bay, manager Alex Cora won't have room in the lineup for Dalbec.

Dalbec will start at third base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Rays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dalbec will stick in the lineup for the fourth game in a row and should play regularly against both left- and right-handed pitching until Rafael Devers (back) is ready to rejoin the lineup. Even if Devers is able to put an end to his three-game absence Tuesday, he may serve as a designated hitter, as manager Alex Cora suggested that he wants to be cautious with the 25-year-old's usage on the Tropicana Field turf. If Devers ends up returning as a DH in Tampa Bay, Dalbec could still pick up a few more starts at third base before the All-Star break.

Dalbec went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 12-5 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
His fourth-inning blast off Nestor Cortes was Dalbec's first homer in nearly a month, snapping an 18-game drought in which he's gone 10-for-44 (.227) with only one double and two RBI. The 27-year-old has started just four of the last 10 games for Boston, and his .210/.289/.340 slash line on the season with six homers and a paltry 19 RBI through 74 contests don't make a compelling case for a bigger role.

Dalbec went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base, his second of the season, in Monday's 7-2 loss to Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Dalbec got the start at first base against right-hander Kevin Gausman, which is usually Franchy Cordero's role. The decision to use Dalbec may signal a change in the playing-time situation at first base. He has a .273 average and .805 OPS since May 26; over that same stretch, Cordero is batting .221 with a .687 OPS.

Dalbec is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Franchy Cordero is receiving the nod at first base, but Dalbec is effectively being replaced in the lineup by Triple-A Worcester call-up Jarren Duran, who is joining the starting outfield. Cordero had been seeing more time in the outfield of late following Enrique Hernandez's (hip) recent placement on the injured list, which had allowed Dalbec to earn more work against right-handed pitching. Dalbec started each of Boston's last seven contests.

Dalbec will start at first base and bat eighth in Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The righty-hitting Dalbec's inclusion in the lineup against a left-handed starting pitcher (Jared Koenig) doesn't come as much of a surprise, but the 26-year-old first baseman has been picking up more work versus right-handed pitching of late as well. Dalbec will pick up his seventh start in a row Tuesday, with six coming at first base. Platoon mate Franchy Cordero -- who is on the bench for the second game in a row due to the lefty-on-lefty matchup -- has been seeing more work in the outfield of late while Enrique Hernandez (hip) has been on the injured list.

Dalbec went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Dalbec has hit safely in four straight games, going 6-for-15 (.400) in that span. His homer in the seventh inning Friday restored a lead for the Red Sox. The first baseman got his average over the Mendoza Line for the first time since April 13 with the two-hit effort -- he's now slashing .201/.280/.329 with four homers, 15 RBI, 19 runs scored and a stolen base in 168 plate appearances.

Dalbec started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and an RBI in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Dalbec filled in for a resting Rafael Devers against lefty Reid Detmers and delivered Alex Verdugo from first base with a sixth-inning double. It was encouraging that the hit came against a righty (reliever Jimmy Herget), which has been the source of many of Dalbec's failings and resulted in him being on the short side of a platoon at first base. He's picked it up at the plate recently, posting a .286/.359/.514 slash line with two home runs and seven RBI over the last 12 contests, but that's come mostly in favorable matchups.

Dalbec went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Both of Dalbec's hits were RBI singles, which came in the second and sixth innings. The first baseman also picked up his first stolen base of the year in the sixth. Tuesday marked just his sixth multi-hit effort of the season, ending a 1-for-11 skid at the plate to start June. Overall, he's posted an uninspiring .187/.269/.295 slash line with three homers, 12 RBI, 18 runs scored, four doubles and a triple through 156 plate appearances. Dalbec saw a little extra playing time while Jackie Bradley was on the paternity list, but now that he's back with the team, Franchy Cordero is likely to return to the strong side of a platoon at first base. That will limit Dalbec mainly to starting against left-handed pitchers.
