Treinen underwent successful surgery to remove a cyst from his middle finger Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was a minor procedure and Treinen is expected to be ready for the start of spring training. The 29-year-old posted a 2.13 ERA for the A's after being acquired from the Nationals, and Oakland has expressed interest in using him as the closer next season.

Treinen will have a small cyst surgically removed from his middle finger later in the week, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The issue was minor and didn't affect Treinen's pitching at all, but the team will have it taken care of now that the season is over. Treinen, who compiled a 2.13 ERA for the A's after being acquired from the Nationals, will become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, though Oakland has expressed interest about bringing him back as its closer.

Treinen worked around a hit with a strikeout in a scoreless inning of work to earn his 16th save of the season Sunday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Treinen was squared up for a two-out double in this appearance, but he promptly got Bret Nicholas to line out to end the game. Though he struggled mightily at times this year, Treinen finished the season in strong form, with 10 consecutive scoreless innings, racking up six saves during that span. He posted a 2.13 ERA after being acquired from the Nationals and will become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Treinen picked up his 15th save of the season Thursday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one in a scoreless inning against Texas.
EDGE Analysis
He allowed the first two batters he faced to reach base, but Treinen buckled down and escaped with 12th save in 13 chances since taking over as the closer in Oakland. Improved control has been a key to his success this season -- Treinen has shaved his BB/9 to 3.0, from 4.2 a year ago. The right-hander should enter camp next spring with a decent leash in the ninth-inning role.

Treinen (3-6) picked up the win after tossing a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Treinen allowed a one-out double but was able to get out of the inning unscathed. He's been solid when called upon for the A's, compiling a 2.25 ERA and 40 strikeouts while converting 11 of 14 save chances in 35 innings.

Treinen worked around a hit to record his 14th save of the season Saturday against the Rangers. He struck out two batters.
EDGE Analysis
Treinen continues to be a pleasant surprise as Oakland's closer choice, saving their second straight game. The right-hander boasts a 2.31 ERA and an 11-for-14 record on save conversions in 35 innings since the A's acquired him.

Treinen gave up two hits and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to collect his 13th save of the season in a 4-1 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
He's put his early September struggles behind him, converting three straight save chances and lowering his ERA on the month to 3.60. Treinen's strikeout rate and BABIP have both improved since coming over to Oakland, and he'll head into the offseason as the favorite to open 2018 as the A's closer.

Treinen pitched around a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth for his 12th save of the year Tuesday against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Nine of those saves have come with Oakland, and Treinen's 2.45 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with the A's are certainly a far cry from the hideous stats he put up for the Nationals earlier this season. As one of the league's hardest-throwing pitchers, the 29-year-old righty possesses tantalizing fantasy upside and should continue returning value over the season's remaining days.

Treinen pitched a scoreless ninth inning to collect his 11th save of the season during Sunday's win over Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
It had been a rough stretch for Treinen, as he lost three consecutive games to start September, and entered Sunday with five runs allowed through six innings for the month. Still, he's the Oakland closer, and saves are at a premium at this stage of the fantasy season. Treinen should be owned in all settings.

Treinen (1-3) took the loss in Monday's 11-9 extra-inning defeat at the hands of the Angels, allowing two earned runs on a hit and a walk over two innings. He also recorded three strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Treinen certainly had his moments over his pair of frames, but the two-run triple he surrendered to Kole Calhoun in the 11th inning was the difference in the contest. The 29-year-old right-hander has now taken losses in each of his last two trips to the mound, yet he's been an asset since arriving in Oakland. Despite the recent stumbles, he boasts a 2.36 ERA, four holds and seven saves over 22 appearances, along with a 29:8 K:BB.
