The Twins announced Ober was removed from his start in Thursday's game against the Tigers due to right groin tightness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober was in line for the win at the time of his departure, as he exited with a 2-1 lead after giving up an earned run on six hits and two walks while striking out three over 3.2 innings. The Twins are labeling Ober as day-to-day, but he'll presumably need to complete a bullpen session without incident in the next two or three days to make his next turn through the rotation. He tentatively lines up to return to the mound Tuesday in Baltimore.

Ober was removed from Thursday's game against the Tigers in the top of the fourth inning due to an apparent injury, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober gave up two singles and a balk during the fourth inning, and he exited the game after visiting with the athletic trainer. The right-hander threw 73 pitches and allowed a run on six hits and two walks while striking out three in 3.2 innings prior to his departure. The nature and severity of his injury haven't been revealed, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to make his next turn through the rotation, which is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday in Baltimore.

Ober struck out six in five innings, allowing one run on five hits in a 2-1 win Friday over the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Ober allowed just three harmless singles over his first four innings of work. He got into some trouble in the fifth when Andrew Vaughn tagged him for a leadoff home run and Reese McGuire added a double. The righty then retired the next three batters to complete his outing. The 26-year-old was roughed up in his first start of the season but has pitched well in his last two appearances, allowing three runs (one earned) and one walk in 11 innings of work.

Ober (1-1) gave up two unearned runs over six innings with three strikeouts and no walks to take the loss in Sunday's matchup against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Ober left with the Twins trailing 2-1, but the bullpen gave up six runs after he departed. Ober has a 3.27 ERA and 7:3 K:BB ratio over 11 innings in two starts this season. He'll next pitch Friday against the White Sox as the Twins will move to a five-man rotation with Sonny Gray on the injured list.

Ober gave up four earned runs over five innings with four strikeouts and two walks to earn a win in his first start of the regular season in Sunday's victory over Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Ober gave up a three-run home run and four runs in the third inning, but he settled down by throwing scoreless frames in the fourth and fifth innings. Minnesota is going with a six-man rotation the first week of the season, so Ober is expected to make his next start Sunday at Boston. It's not clear if the Twins will stick with a six-man rotation after next Sunday.

Ober is expected to be in the Opening Day rotation, manager Rocco Baldelli told MLB.com. Ober threw two scoreless innings in his spring debut Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Ober finished last season on the injured list with a strained hip, but he's fully healthy as spring training begins. Ober looks set to have a rotation spot even if the Twins acquire another veteran starter. Ober doesn't have an overpowering fastball (92.5 mph average), but it's offset by his outstanding control and improving off-speed pitches (slider, curveball). He could improve dramatically if he can limit home runs (1.95 HR/9 last year).

Ober was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, ending his 2021 season, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober lined up for one final start of the season this week, but his rookie campaign will instead come to an unceremonious end due to the hip issue. The 26-year-old had a strong showing in his first taste of the majors with a 4.19 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 96:19 K:BB across 92.1 innings (20 starts). He'll have more than four months to get healthy before the start of spring training, when he should have an inside track to a rotation spot for 2022.

Ober (3-3) allowed one run on four hits while striking out six across 5.1 innings to earn the win against Toronto on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
In his previous start -- also against Toronto -- Ober allowed four runs in four innings, but he was much more effective in the rematch Friday. The right-hander pitched into the sixth frame for the first time in September and allowed only four hits, half of which -- including a home run -- came off the bat of Marcus Semien. Ober's six strikeouts fell one shy of his season high, and he didn't walk any batters for the fourth time in his past five outings. He'll look to build on the victory when he takes on the Tigers at home next week.

Ober (2-3) allowed four runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts through four innings, taking the loss in Saturday's 6-2 defeat to the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Ober couldn't contain a hot Blue Jays lineup Saturday, allowing a solo shot to Marcus Semien and a three-run homer to Teoscar Hernandez before being yanked after four innings. Minnesota's deployment of Ober has been interesting, as it has used the rookie as more of an extended opener rather than a true starter this season. The 26-year-old has thrown over 85 pitches just once in 19 starts and has never gone beyond the sixth inning. If the Twins take the training wheels off Ober next season and allow him to pitch deeper into games, the 6-foot-9 right-hander's ability to rack up strikeouts could make him a fantasy sleeper.

Ober allowed three runs on five hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings Sunday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals got on the board right away against Ober with a double and a base hit before Salvador Perez hit a sacrifice fly to score Whit Merrifield. Adalberto Mondesi then led off the second inning with a solo blast to right. Ober held the Royals' bats quiet over the next two innings but then started the fifth by allowing a pair of base hits with one out before his day was finished. One of the runners would come in to score, charging a third run to Ober on his final line. The 25-year-old has now failed to reach five innings in back-to-back starts and owns a 4.12 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 87:17 K:BB over 83 innings. He's lined up to take the mound next weekend against the scorching hot Blue Jays lineup.
