Austin Hays Making Progress rotoballer.com Wed 5/1/19 2:00 PM
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (thumb) remains in Florida but has advanced to taking practice on the field, and he will begin playing in games later this week. A healthy Hays could be the Orioles starting center fielder eventually. Expect Hays, the team's No. 4 prospect per MLB Pipeline, to play in the minors for a bit before he's even a consideration for the major league roster. But the 23-year-old could help owners out in deep mixed and AL-only leagues if he's playing everyday for t[...]

Austin Hays Has Sprained Thumb rotoballer.com Mon 3/25/19 9:18 PM
Baltimore Orioles general manager Mike Elias said that outfield prospect Austin Hays' MRI exam showed a sprained thumb. Hays will be out for "weeks" rather than "months." Hays also dealt with injuries last year and played in just 75 games between Low-A Aberdeen and Double-A Bowie, hitting a combined .235 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI and six stolen bases. He's one to watch in dynasty/keeper leagues and could make his major league debut this year given Baltimore's lack of depth in the outfield. Expe[...]

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays appeared to be battling for a starting job as spring training continued, but it's still going to be hard to keep him out of the lineup with the way he's raking. Hays has also provided three doubles, and he very well may be a sneaky source of power in a friendly ballpark like Camden Yards.
