St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said that starting pitcher Austin Gomber will take the rotation spot of Carlos Martinez (shoulder). The left-handed rookie took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in his first major league start on July 24 against the Reds and has a nice 3.22 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 7.3 K/9 in 22 1/3 innings overall for the Cards. He's not a bad streamer in mixed leagues in the right matchup.

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Austin Gomber had a great game in his first start. He has gotten some time out of the bullpen, but he made his first start on Tuesday. He gave up two runs in 6 1/3 innings. Gomber only gave up two hits while striking out six batters. Gomber has a 3.48 ERA this season. His WHIP is at 1.11. He isn't going to offer you much fantasy value. Especially not as the Cardinals rotation becomes healthy again.
