Champ or Chump: Ramon Laureano and Austin Gomber rotoballer.com Thu 9/13/18 7:00 AM

This will be the last column of the year that pays any attention to 2018 forecasts. With H2H playoffs winding down and roto leagues all but locked up, there just isn't that much that statistical analysis can do over a sample size of two weeks. We'll keep at it though by examining some of the bigger breakouts of 2018 to determine if their production looks sustainable in 2019 and beyond. We're looking at two more no-names before we completely shift gears though. Ramon Laureano is making a name [...]

Buy or Sell - Undervalued and Overvalued Players for Week 23 rotoballer.com Sat 9/1/18 3:00 AM

You probably aren't technically able to make trades in your leagues by this point in the season, but it's never too late to buy or sell from the plethora of talented players available in fantasy baseball waiver pools. Instead of trading assets with other owners, you can "buy" players that have been overlooked or recently discarded on the wire. In this case, think of it as a short-term investment that comes at a low cost (you did save at least a couple bucks of FAAB for the final month, right?) [...]

Austin Gomber (SP/RP, STL) - Waiver Wire Pickups rotoballer.com Wed 8/29/18 7:06 AM

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 22% of leagues ANALYSIS: St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Austin Gomber has overcome every obstacle put in front of him this season. Everyone thought that Coors Field would undoubtedly turn Gomber back into a pumpkin, but then the guy goes and allows one measly run over six solid innings for the win! Still, Gomber has a somber 4.76 SIERA and 4.83 xFIP underneath the sparkly 2.79 ERA. His 1.30 WHIP is not helping anyone and is just evidence of a [...]

Austin Gomber Strikes Out Six and Gets His Fourth Win rotoballer.com Sun 8/26/18 4:45 PM

St. Louis Cardinals rookie starting pitcher Austin Gomber picked up a win and a quality start on Sunday, pitching six innings while allowing just two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk. He struck out six and lowered his ERA to 2.79. He's been a solid starter and deserves consideration in mixed leagues.

Austin Gomber (SP, STL) - Waiver Wire Pickups rotoballer.com Wed 8/22/18 6:37 AM

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 9% of leagues ANALYSIS: St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Austin Gomber had not allowed an earned run in either of his last two starts and nearly pulled off his magic again on Monday. He had fired off four scoreless frames against the Dodgers before they finally got him for two runs in the fifth. The Cardinals were up 3-2 at that point, but the bullpen couldn't hold on for his third straight win. The southpaw's 36-to-23 K-to-BB ratio is [...]

Week 21 Waiver Wire - Starting Pitchers rotoballer.com Wed 8/22/18 4:00 AM

I hope you're all ready to do whatever it takes in these last six weeks of the season to win. It might mean dropping a big name for a streamer or, if you still have trades, "losing the trade" to win the league. Don't be shy about your needs and don't be ignorant of how many innings you and your opponents have left in roto formats. Don't overlook how your H2H playoff opponent's rosters are constructed. This is crunch time. If you want to chat more about additional arms/bats/whatever, you can f[...]
