Lewicki was released by the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Lewicki made just two major-league appearances in 2020, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 3.1 innings. After seeing limited action in the big leagues, the 28-year-old intends to play overseas in 2021.

Lewicki's contract was selected by the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Lewicki last appeared in the majors in 2018 prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery. He'll return to a major-league bullpen in Arizona, but he likely won't play a very prominent relief role.

Lewicki will be a part of the Diamondbacks' 60-man summer camp.
EDGE Analysis
Lewicki's 2018 season was cut short by a second Tommy John surgery, and he was later claimed off waivers by Arizona and outrighted off the 40-man a month afterwards. He's at least seen action in the majors, however, appearing in 13 games for Detroit in 2018 and posting a 4.89 ERA before injury shut down his season. He missed the entire 2019 campaign as a result.

Lewicki (elbow) was sent outright to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Lewicki was cast off the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster in order to free up space for prospects who need to be protected in advance of the Rule 5 draft. The 26-year-old righty is slated to miss the entire 2019 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery at the end of August.

Lewicki (elbow) was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewicki is set to miss the entire 2019 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery at the end of August. The Diamondbacks will either need to carry him on their 40-man roster until the start of the season (when he can be transferred to the 60-day DL) or attempt to pass him through waivers as the Tigers did. The 26-year-old posted a 4.89 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 30:14 K:BB across 38.2 innings with the Tigers in 2018 prior to suffering the injury.

Lewicki (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander is already expected to miss the entire 2019 campaign after undergoing a second Tommy John surgery, so this move does nothing to change his short-term outlook. The move was simply made to clear a 40-man roster spot for veteran catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. Look for Lewicki to return ahead of the 2020 season.

Manager Ron Gardenhire said Thursday that Lewicki (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery next week and miss the entire 2019 season, Evan Woodbery of MLive Media Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewicki was dealt with more unfortunate news after meeting with an elbow specialist in New York on Wednesday. Though an MRI last week revealed a bone spur but no additional damage, Lewicki continued to deal with discomfort which prompted him to visit Dr. Christopher Arnold, who operated on him during his first Tommy John surgery in high school. He is expected to make a full recovery by spring training in 2020.

Lewicki is scheduled to see an elbow specialist, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewicki is still experiencing pain in his elbow, so he'll see Dr. Christopher Arnold -- who operated on him in high school -- to determine more about the issue. At the moment, the right-hander remains without a return date.

Lewicki underwent an MRI on Wednesday that confirmed a bone spur but no additional damage to the elbow, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewicki was put on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday morning, as the team cited "elbow inflammation" as the culprit. Though his MRI revealed a bone spur, Lewicki could potentially return a minimum stay on the shelf if his elbow responds well to anti-inflammatories. In his place, it appears as though the club may turn to Ryan Carpenter for Saturday's start in Minnesota.
