Yankees skipper Joe Girardi has declined to name his postseason roster or his game two starter until the Yankees find out who they'll be facing.
With CC Sabathia slated to pitch in the first game, the decision will likely come down to Andy Pettitte or Hiroki Kuroda to pitch in the second contest. The roster should be finalized and announced on Saturday.

Andy Pettitte allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Blue Jays.
Pettitte gave up five hits (including a solo home run by Rajai Davis) while striking out three and walking four. This was just the fourth time in 12 starts this year that he allowed more than two earned runs in a start. He grabbed at his leg twice in his final inning of work, but there's no indication that he suffered any sort of injury. His next start will be in the postseason or possibly in a one-game playoff.

Andy Pettitte tossed six shutout innings Monday in a 6-3 win over the Twins.
Pettitte allowed seven hits and a walk, but managed to pitch out of multiple jams to keep the Twins off the board. The 40-year-old southpaw has 11 scoreless innings in two starts since returning from the disabled list and a 2.71 ERA overall this year. He's a must-start in fantasy leagues against the last-place Blue Jays this weekend.

Back from the DL, Andy Pettitte shut out the Blue Jays for five innings to pick up a win in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.
Pettitte was supposed to be on a pitch limit of 70, but manager Joe Girardi sent him back out for the fifth at 68 pitches anyway. It worked out as well as Girardi could have hoped, as Pettitte needed just seven pitches in his first one-two-three frame of the day. That made him eligible for the win, which he got in what turned out to be a 4-2 game. Pettitte should be ready to throw about 90 pitches next time out.

Yankees activated LHP Andy Pettitte from the 60-day disabled list.
Pettitte is coming back from a broken ankle and will start the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays. The 40-year-old southpaw hasn't pitched since June 27 against the Indians, when he struck out seven batters over four innings. He should carry significant fantasy value over these final two weeks.

Andy Pettitte (ankle) will be activated from the disabled list to start Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
Pettitte declared himself ready to go after throwing 55 pitches in a simulated game Wednesday. He'll be limited to around 75 pitches in his first start back, but this lines him up to make four starts before the end of the regular season. The 40-year-old southpaw had a 3.22 ERA in nine starts prior to the injury and is worth stashing in a DL-spot in most fantasy leagues.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi indicated that Andy Pettitte (ankle) will rejoin the rotation next week if he receives clearance from the doctor Friday.
Pettitte declared himself healthy and ready for activation following a 55-pitch bullpen session Wednesday. He'll take the rotation spot of David Phelps next week, as Freddy Garcia has already been booted in favor of Ivan Nova. Pettitte has been sidelined since late June because of a fractured ankle.

Andy Pettitte (ankle) declared himself ready to rejoin the Yankees' rotation following a successful 55-pitch bullpen session Wednesday.
Pettitte is simply waiting to see what the team decides at this point, as he considers himself 100 percent healthy. The Yanks could decide to have him throw one more simulated game in order to build his pitch count up a bit more. The veteran lefty has been on the shelf since late June because of a fractured ankle.

Andy Pettitte (ankle) has been cleared to resume running and will throw a simulated game Wednesday.
They're both great signs of progress for the veteran left-hander, who has been on the shelf since late June because of a fractured ankle. Pettitte should be back in the Yankees' starting rotation by the end of the regular season if he continues to avoid setbacks.
