Vaughn moved from left field to third base after Yoan Moncada (hand) was removed from Thursday's game against the Twins in the fourth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Vaughn handled the assignment cleanly for four innings before he was replaced by Leury Garcia (undisclosed) in the eighth. Garcia had been scratched from the original starting lineup due to an undisclosed injury; that appears to be the reason why he wasn't brought in initially to replace Moncada. Instead, Vaughn, a first baseman that's been converted to left field, played third base for the first time in the majors. The move, however, appears to be a temporary one. That Garcia was well enough to enter the game suggests the undisclosed injury is not serious, and the White Sox are considering calling up Jake Burger, a natural third baseman.

Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run and RBI in Wednesday's 13-3 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Vaughn's home run -- one of six on the day for the White Sox -- put Chicago up 3-1 in the second inning. He would add a sacrifice fly to his ledger in the fifth inning, allowing him to establish a new single-game career high in RBI. The rookie had driven in only two runs over his previous 18 games combined.

Vaughn entered the first game of Sunday's doubleheader as a pinch runner for an injured Jose Abreu (knee) and stayed in the game to play first base. He went 0-for-1 in his lone plate appearance and stole a base.
EDGE Analysis
Abreu was hit by a pitch and forced to leave the game in the sixth inning. Vaughn was in the starting lineup for the second game of the doubleheader but in left field, while Yasmani Grandal slotted in at first base to replace Abreu. X-rays on Abreu came back negative, and he's listed as day-to-day.

Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Vaughn proved that his face contusion wasn't an issue after reaching base three times Saturday, including a solo home run off Framber Valdez in the seventh inning. The rookie hasn't been a very consistent hitter this season batting .236, but his role has increased due to multiple injuries to teammates. He will likely get better with experience as he has shown the ability to get on base multiple times in three of his last five games.

Vaughn (face) will bat seventh and play left field Saturday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Vaughn exited Friday's game with a facial contusion after getting hit by a throw while running the bases. The injury evidently wasn't a particularly serious one, as he won't wind up missing a single contest.

Vaughn left Friday's game against the Astros with a facial contusion.
EDGE Analysis
Vaughn was hit in the face by a throw while running out a double in the sixth inning Friday, and he was removed from the game in the bottom of the eighth inning. He's currently considered day-to-day, but Jake Lamb could see increased at-bats if the 23-year-old is forced to miss additional time.

Vaughn went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
It was Vaughn's second three-hit showing of 2021, and his first multi-hit game since May 27. Injuries in the White Sox's lineup, specifically to Eloy Jimenez (pectoral), have thrust Vaughn into a more substantial role than expected in 2021 and he's struggled with a .231 average, but performances like Wednesday's can be invaluable to the 23-year-old's confidence going forward.

Vaughn is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Tigers, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
With manager Tony La Russa wanting to get Brian Goodwin another start after he homered and doubled in his team debut Saturday, Vaughn will sit for the second straight day. The rookie is hitting just .226/.308/.396 across 182 plate appearances this season, so it wouldn't be surprising is he sees less consistent playing time in the coming weeks.
