Suarez was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez had an ugly start Saturday in which he allowed nine runs (seven earned) over four innings, and now makes his way back to the minors. The Giants will look elsewhere for their fifth starter next weekend against the Orioles. The 26-year-old returns to Sacramento, where he has a 6.33 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB through six starts this season.

Suarez (0-2) took the loss Saturday, coughing up nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits and three walks over four-plus innings while striking out two as the Giants fell 10-4 to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw was in trouble from the jump, serving up a triple to Ketel Marte on the second pitch of the game, and things didn't get any better from there. Suarez gave the Giants a quality start his first time out this season, but this outing might cause the club to re-think whether he should remain in the rotation. If he does stick around, he'll next take the mound Friday in Baltimore.

Suarez will remain in San Francisco's starting rotation moving forward, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez gave up three runs over six frames in his 2019 debut, and he evidently convinced his skipper to keep him in the rotation for the foreseeable future. The Giants currently have 14 pitchers on their 25-man roster, so with Suarez remaining in the rotation, a move is expected to be made Tuesday to add an infielder.

Suarez (0-1) allowed three runs on four hits and four walks Monday, taking the loss against the Braves. He struck out five and yielded two homers.
EDGE Analysis
It was Suarez's 2019 debut after registering a 4.49 ERA in over 160 innings at the MLB level last season. Things got rocky early as he served up a leadoff blast to Ronald Acuna and later was taken deep by Austin Riley. Assuming he sticks around in the rotation, the 26-year-old will make another home start Saturday against Arizona.

Suarez was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Suarez was promoted prior to Monday's game, and he'll make his season debut in San Francisco's series opener against the Braves. He's accrued a 6.33 ERA and 1.70 WHIP with a 21:10 K:BB across 27 innings at Triple-A this season.

Suarez will be recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to start Monday's game against the Braves, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez was unable to secure a spot in the starting rotation in spring training but will now get his chance despite posting a 6.33 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB through six starts with the River Cats. The 26-year-old made 29 starts for the Giants in 2018 and had a 4.49 ERA, 1.30 WHIP across 160.1 innings.

Suarez allowed five runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out six over 5.1 innings in Triple-A Sacramento's loss to El Paso on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty went down with a hamstring strain April 20, but it was diagnosed as a Grade 1 pull and Suarez was able to return in a little under three weeks. After losing out on a big-league rotation spot in spring training, Suarez has gone on to post a 6.33 ERA and 1.70 WHIP through six starts for Sacramento. He's not exactly making a strong case to return to the majors, but chances are, the Giants will need him to chew up innings later in the year after they sell off some of their top assets.

Suarez suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain in his most recent start Saturday for Triple-A Sacramento, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty has been placed on the minor-league injured list and is expected to miss two weeks. He has a 5.89 ERA in four starts for Sacramento this season.

The Giants optioned Suarez to the minors Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants whittled down their rotation to five after Monday's exhibition game against the Athletics, sending down Suarez and shipping Chris Stratton to the Angels. The decision to move Stratton to another organization and least theoretically leaves Suarez as the next man up to join the rotation should an injury arise. The 26-year-old lefty was a capable starter for San Francisco during his rookie campaign, delivering a 4.49 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 160.1 innings while generating groundballs at a healthy 51.3 percent clip. He'll likely head to Triple-A Sacramento to begin 2019.

Suarez is a strong candidate to begin the year in the minors, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez is competing for a back-end rotation spot, but it sounds like veteran southpaws Drew Pomeranz and Derek Holland remain ahead of the youngster. The combination of remaining minor-league options and marginal results this spring (5.11 ERA over 12.1 innings) support Pavlovic's expectation for the sophomore beginning the year with Triple-A Sacramento. The 25-year-old hasn't been sent down yet, but fantasy owners shouldn't count on getting any starts out of the lefty early in the season.
