Heaney (1-1) took the win against Cincinnati on Tuesday, hurling 5.1 innings and giving up one run on five hits and four walks while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
It was far from an easy outing for Heaney as he once again struggled with his control, allowing four walks and throwing balls on 40 of 101 pitches, but he managed to constantly squeeze out of trouble with the help of a pair of double plays and two runners thrown out on the basepaths (including one at home). Though the 28-year-old has posted an impressive 10.6 K/9 this season, his walk rate (4.1 BB/9) and struggles keeping the ball in the park (eight home runs in 30.2 innings) have held him back considerably. He'll carry a 4.99 ERA and 1.24 WHIP into a home matchup against Oakland on Sunday in his next scheduled start.

Heaney allowed five earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two across 3.2 innings Wednesday against the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Heaney walked at least one batter in three of the four innings he pitched, and in the remaining frame he threw a wild pitch. The majority of the damage against him came on a three-run homer by Rowdy Tellez, but Heaney was ultimately pulled after allowing a two-RBI single to Eric Sogard. Though he has an inflated 5.68 ERA through 25.1 innings, Heaney has also contributed a solid 1.14 WHIP and has 32 punchouts in five starts. He'll look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for Tuesday against the Reds.

Heaney allowed one run on two hits with two strikeouts and three walks across five innings during a no-decision against the Rays on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old had his best outing of the season, but the Angels bullpen spoiled it, allowing eight runs in the final four frames. While he's still looking for his first win, Heaney has really only had one bad start, and he usually racks up plenty of strikeouts for his owners. In four starts, he is 0-1 with a 4.57 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in 21.2 innings this season. His next outing is scheduled to be at the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Heaney is scheduled to start Friday's game versus the Rays, Maria Torres of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Heaney could have pitched Thursday if the Angels wanted to slide him up in the starting rotation, but he'll instead receive the extra day of rest. The 28-year-old has a 5.40 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and an impressive 28:3 K:BB through his first three starts, though he's also already served up six homers.

Heaney (0-1) was charged with the loss Friday against the Mariners after allowing five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 through 5.2 innings of work.
EDGE Analysis
In just his third start since coming off the injured list with elbow issues, Heaney punched out 10 batters for the second straight game. The left-hander retired his first eight batters before giving up a pair of singles and a walk in the fourth inning to knot the score, 1-1. Heaney then allowed a home run to Domingo Santana in the fifth and a three-run homer to Tom Murphy in the sixth to give Seattle a 5-1 lead. The 28-year-old now owns a 5.40 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 28:3 K:BB. He'll look to earn his first win Thursday against Tampa Bay.

Heaney recorded 10 strikeouts and gave up three runs on five hits over six innings during Saturday's 6-3 win over the Mariners. He did not walk a batter or factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Heaney dominated Seattle's lineup with the exception of one hitter, as Edwin Encarnacion accounted for all three runs with a pair of homers. It was still a productive outing for the left-hander, who exhibited good control by delivering first-pitch strikes to 17 of the 23 batters he faced. Heaney has allowed five runs and has a 18:1 K:BB through his first two starts, and lines up to face the Mariners again next weekend.

Heaney pitched five effective innings but did not factor into the decision against the Rangers on Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out eight.
EDGE Analysis
After missing the first part of the season with an injured elbow, Heaney showed little rust in his season debut, allowing only a pair of solo home runs and retiring 15 of the 18 batters he faced. He was limited to 85 pitches but still managed to rack up eight strikeouts. After compiling a 9-10 record and 9.0 K/9 in 180 innings last season, Heaney figures to be a key part of the Angels' rotation for the remainder of 2019 if he can maintain his health. He's scheduled to face Seattle in his next start Friday.

The Angels officially activated Heaney (elbow) from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Rangers, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reliever Jaime Barria was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake to open up a spot on the active roster for Heaney in advance of his 2019 debut. Despite his prolonged shutdown, Heaney only needed one minor-league rehab start to convince the Angels he was ready to rejoin the big club. He notched 10 strikeouts over 4.1 scoreless innings for Salt Lake on Monday while tossing 73 pitches, so he shouldn't be subject to any significant restrictions versus Texas.

Heaney (elbow) will be activated from the 10-day injured list and start Sunday's game against the Rangers, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Heaney was lights out in his last rehab outing with Triple-A Salt Lake, proving one last time to his skipper that he's ready to return to the big leagues. He tossed 4.1 scoreless frames and fanned 10. The southpaw will make his season debut Sunday after battling through a left elbow issue for the first few months of the 2019 campaign.

Heaney (elbow) tossed 4.1 scoreless innings in his rehab start Monday with Triple-A Salt Lake. He gave up two hits and one walk and struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first appearance in affiliated ball this season, Heaney pumped in 46 of his 73 pitches for strikes while making quick work of a quality Las Vegas lineup. The elevated pitch count makes it likely that Heaney won't require another rehab start in the minors before returning from the 10-day injured list, but the Angels will likely wait and see how he looks during a between-starts bullpen session until ruling on his next step. He's tentatively being penciled in for his 2019 Angels debut Sunday at home versus the Rangers.
