Chicago nearly blew the game in the top of the ninth inning but rallied to save that embarrassment in the bottom half of the frame. Jeff Keppinger singled, Gordon Beckham reached on an error and then Ramirez played the role of hero, driving Keppinger home. Ramirez is batting .277/.305/.342 in 74 games played this season.
