Alex White allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings of Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Marlins, improving to 1-3 on the year.
White struck out three and walked one in picking up his fourth career victory. We would say he got the win because he was away from hitter's haven Coors Field, but White's best start of the year actually came at home last Friday, while he's allowed at least four runs in two of his three road outings. He'll bring a 5.32 ERA into Monday's game against Houston. That one is in Denver.

Alex White yielded three runs (two earned) over seven innings in a loss to the Mariners on Friday night.
White scattered six hits (including a solo homer by Mike Carp) while fanning seven and walking none. He also hit a batter. While he took the loss, it was the first time in his major league career that he completed seven innings. He'll carry a 5.09 ERA into his next start Wednesday against the Marlins and remains an intriguing option in NL-only leagues.

Alex White was knocked around for six runs over 4 1/3 innings as part of road loss to the Dodgers Sunday.
White struck out just one, walked three and gave up five hits. The 2009 first-round pick of the Indians was nursing a 4-2 lead through four innings, but allowed the first four batters of the fifth to reach base. The good news for White is that he had 2.92 ERA in Triple-A this season and gets the light-hitting Mariners next. There's still some upside here for deep NL-only owners.

Alex White took a loss in his season debut after allowing two runs in 6 1/3 innings Tuesday against the Rockies.
A quality debut for White. He probably has a better chance of sticking in Colorado's rotation that Christian Friedrich, though Friedrich may have the greater upside of the two. NL-only leaguers could do worse than having him stashed away.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that Alex White is the "strong frontrunner" to replace Jhoulys Chacin in the rotation next Tuesday.
With Tyler Chatwood injuring himself during his start with Triple-A Colorado Springs Thursday, it was down to White and Christian Friedrich, and it appears that White will likely get the nod. It's well deserved, as White boasts a 2.92 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 21/8 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 frames at Colorado Springs.

Rockies optioned RHP Alex White to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
White told reporters last week that he was comfortable pitching out of the bullpen this year, but the Rockies want to continue grooming him as a starter. The 23-year-old right-hander should be up in the major leagues at some point this summer. The Rox are still sorting out their starting rotation with Opening Day fast approaching.

Alex White said Tuesday that he's comfortable working out of the bullpen.
"As soon as I was drafted, that was the first thing people said, that I was going to the bullpen," said White. "I had to prove my first couple years of pro ball that I could start. I wanted to be a starter. But to get to this level, it's a very fine line. We think my best role right now is in the bullpen, and that's something I'm going to try to do as well as I can." White entered spring training as a candidate for a rotation spot, but he has made three straight relief appearances, including two shutout innings during his latest appearance on Sunday. It's not clear if he'll be converted back into a starter in the minors if he doesn't win a spot on the Opening Day roster.

Alex White gave up four runs in four innings Friday against the Rockies to fall to 0-2 this spring.
White has given up six runs in nine innings. Since he has options left and did miss a big chunk of last year, he might be Triple-A bound for the start of the season.

Alex White took a loss despite giving up just one run in three innings Sunday against the Brewers.
White's DUI arrest didn't win him any character points, but the Rockies still figure to give him a rotation spot if he proves worthy. He's allowed two runs in five innings to date.

Alex White allowed one run on two hits and a walk over two relief innings in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs.
He did strike out a pair and got three groundouts. White, who was charged with a DUI over the weekend, is hoping to gain a spot in the Rockies rotation. After an 8.42 ERA and 1.69 WHIP down the stretch for the Rockies last year, he might be best off getting some more seasoning.
