Rays recalled LHP Alex Torres from Triple-A Durham.
Torres made one appearance with the Rays back on July 18, but has spent the majority of the season at the Triple-A level, posting a 3.08 ERA and 156/83 K/BB ratio over 146 1/3 innings. The 23-year-old left-hander will likely pitch in long relief down the stretch.

Rays optioned LHP Alex Torres to Triple-A Durham.
That was fast. Torres didn't fare well in his major league debut Monday night against the Yankees, allowing one hit and three walks in the top of the ninth. He took the loss for walking in the go-ahead run. The 23-year-old will be back eventually, but some more work on the minor league level wouldn't hurt.

Rays recalled LHP Alex Torres from Triple-A Durham.
Torres, 23, has a 3.27 ERA over parts of six seasons in the minors. He was 6-6 with a 3.23 ERA and 99/51 K/BB ratio over 18 starts with the Bulls this season. The southpaw could be the first option out of the bullpen if Alex Cobb runs into any trouble in his start against the Yankees on Monday night.
