Alex Torres has received his visa and will head to the Padres' spring training complex on Tuesday. Torres revealed the news himself on Twitter. It's obviously not ideal that the left-hander got a late start to spring training, but he'll have enough time to be ready by Opening Day.

The 26-year-old native of Venezuela was acquired from the Rays this offseason in a seven-player swap and is expected to open the 2014 season in the San Diego bullpen.
