Hassan signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Hassan had been DFA'd three times already this season, and it appears the A's are ready to move on after claiming the outfielder off waivers twice - once in April and once earlier this month. The 27-year-old made three major league appearances for Boston last season, going 1-for-8 at the dish with a walk and five strikeouts.

This is the third time he has been designated for assignment this season, and if the past couple months have taught us anything, it is that another team will claim him off waivers in the coming days.

It sounds like he is finally healthy enough to take the field in games, so his status for the start of the season is looking positive. If he is able to make the team out of camp, his role will likely be minimal, or he could start the year with the A's and then get sent to the minor leagues once Coco Crisp or Josh Reddick is healthy.
