Colome recorded his first hold in a win over the Rangers on Monday, firing a scoreless eighth inning in which he allowed a hit, was charged with a balk and recorded two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
The recent trade acquisition had gotten right to work in his new digs Sunday, recording a save on a day when Edwin Diaz was unavailable due to having pitched four times in the prior five days. Monday, Colome was deployed in what is expected to be his much more frequent role, that of a setup option ahead of Diaz. He played his role effectively, working around a single and a balk to close out the eighth with a strikeout of Shin-Soo Choo. Having been used as a full-time closer while in Tampa, Monday's hold was Colome's first of the season.

Colome made his Mariners debut in Sunday's win over the Twins, notching his 12th save by firing a perfect ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Starter Mike Leake worked eight sparkling innings of one-run ball, and with the Mariners holding only a two-run advantage entering the ninth, the stage was set for a save situation. However, regular closer Edwin Diaz was unavailable after having worked four of the prior five days, which afforded Colome a chance to make a positive impression on his new teammates in his first game in a Seattle uniform. The 29-year-old came through with flying colors, needing only nine pitches to retire the potent trio of Brian Dozier, Max Kepler and Miguel Sano. Sunday's scenario -- wherein manager Scott Servais had the luxury of going to another accomplished closer when his usual stalwart ninth-inning option was unavailable -- exemplifies the current depth of the team's bullpen.

Colome will be in uniform and available for Sunday's series finale against the Twins, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old reliever is expected to primarily be utilized as a hard-throwing, right-handed setup option to closer Edwin Diaz. However, with an extensive track record as a ninth-inning option that includes 95 saves over the last two-plus seasons, Colome should certainly have occasional opportunities to close out victories when Diaz is unavailable.

Colome was traded from the Rays to the Mariners on Friday in exchange for Andrew Moore, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Colome has acted as the Rays closer thus far, so it's unclear as to who will fill that role following the trade. He's 11-for-13 in save opportunities this season and sports a 4.15 ERA with 23 strikeouts across 21.2 innings.

Colome (2-5) allowed three runs (one earned) on a hit, a walk and a wild pitch over two-thirds of an inning in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday. He also recorded a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Asked to preserve a 1-1 tie entering the ninth, Colome's outing was doomed from the start. J.D. Martinez reached on a throwing error by rookie Willy Adames to open the frame, and Colome then allowed Xander Bogaerts to double him home. A walk to Rafael Devers and a wild pitch later, Eduardo Nunez drove in another run with a sacrifice fly, and a third crossed the plate on a passed ball by Jesus Sucre. It was a rare May slip-up for the 29-year-old closer, who'd generated seven scoreless efforts in his eight prior appearances and compiled five saves overall during the month.

Colome notched his ninth save in a win over the Royals on Wednesday, firing a scoreless ninth inning in which he allowed a hit and recorded two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
The hard-throwing closer ended up closing out all three games of the sweep against the Royals, putting together a trio of one-inning, one-hit scoreless efforts. Colome has had his share of hiccups this season, but he seems to have hit his stride in May -- factoring in Wednesday's production, he sports a 1.17 ERA, 8:0 K:BB and four saves across 7.2 innings in seven appearances during the month.

Colome worked around a hit with one strikeout in a scoreless inning of work to earn his seventh save of the season Monday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Colome made things interesting in this one, allowing a one-out triple to put the tying run 90 feet away. He buckled down and got the final two outs to finish the game. Colome has still been shaky at times, but he's allowed just two earned runs over his last 10.2 innings to lower his ERA to 4.58.

Colome fired a scoreless ninth inning during a win over the Orioles in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
After not having pitched since last Sunday, Colome was called on by manager Kevin Cash for some low-leverage work in the blowout win. The 29-year-old closer has generated scoreless efforts in three of four May appearances, with his one hiccup having come when he surrendered the winning run versus the Blue Jays six days prior.

Colome (2-4) allowed an earned run one one hit and a wild pitch over an inning in a loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Charged with preserving a 1-1 tie to open the ninth, Colome dug himself a quick hole by surrendering a leadoff double to Kevin Pillar. After a Kendrys Morales groundout advanced Pillar to third, Colome's wild pitch plated him with the go-ahead run. The Blue Jays' slim advantage would stand in the home half of the ninth, handing Colome his second loss over the last four outings. The 29-year-old retains a hold on the ninth-inning job for now, but his ERA and WHIP check in at an unsightly 5.17 and 1.72, respectively.

Colome struck out two over 1.2 perfect innings Saturday to pick up his sixth save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
It was the first time this season Colome's been required to work more than one inning, but he had no issues with the extra workload. The right-hander has turned things around after a rough start to 2018, posting a 1.17 ERA and 11:1 K:BB over his last seven appearances.
