Orioles claimed RHP Alex Burnett off waivers from the Blue Jays, optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk. Burnett is now on his third team within the last couple weeks. He'll be an option to help out of the Orioles' bullpen later this season.

Alex Burnett took the loss in Wednesday's exhibition against Puerto Rico after giving up three runs in 1 1/3 innings. The Twins fell 7-6. While today's outing won't count in his spring stats, he's now given up five runs and 12 hits in 4 1/3 innings. That's a tough start for a guy the Twins are counting on as a sixth- and seventh-inning guy.
