Thomas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

The left-handed-hitting Thomas had been included in the lineup in each of the Diamondbacks' last three matchups versus left-handed starting pitchers, but he'll take a seat Monday as the Rangers send southpaw Patrick Corbin to the bump. Blaze Alexander has been seeing most of his playing time at third base and second base of late but will cover center field in place of Thomas in the series opener.

Thomas isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

An 0-for-4 performance Friday snapped what had been a three-game multi-hit streak for Thomas, and the D-backs will now get him some rest against Tyler Glasnow and the Dodgers. Jake McCarthy will fill the void in center field and bat seventh.

Thomas was part of a productive lower third of the order that drove in all six of Arizona's runs. His third-inning single off Jose Quintana delivered the team's final two runs and held up as the game-winning knock. Those were his first RBI in nine contests. Thomas doesn't usually start against left-handers, but the center fielder found himself in the starting nine for a second straight game against a southpaw.

The Arizona outfielder notched his fifth three-hit performance of the season, as he also swiped his sixth base. Thomas has been filling an everyday role for the Diamondbacks since Aug. 1, hitting .298 (17-for-57) with two homers, two doubles, six runs scored and six RBI across 15 games this month. The 25-year-old is now slashing .251/.295/.380 with 40 runs scored and 33 RBI in 363 total plate appearances.
