Southpaw Ranger Suarez is on the bump for Arizona, so the left-handed-hitting Thomas will exit the lineup and receive his first day off since Sept. 9. Jorge Barrosa will replace Thomas in center field and will bat ninth.

Thomas went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer during Arizona's 5-2 extra-inning win over Minnesota on Saturday.

Thomas hadn't hit a home run since Aug. 4, but he gave the Diamondbacks the early lead with a two-run shot in the fourth. The 25-year-old outfielder has nine home runs this season, which ties his career high from the 2023 campaign. Thomas has struggled at the plate over his last 15 games, having gone 5-for-33 (.152) over that span.

Thomas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The left-handed-hitting Thomas had been included in the lineup in each of the Diamondbacks' last three matchups versus left-handed starting pitchers, but he'll take a seat Monday as the Rangers send southpaw Patrick Corbin to the bump. Blaze Alexander has been seeing most of his playing time at third base and second base of late but will cover center field in place of Thomas in the series opener.

Thomas isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

An 0-for-4 performance Friday snapped what had been a three-game multi-hit streak for Thomas, and the D-backs will now get him some rest against Tyler Glasnow and the Dodgers. Jake McCarthy will fill the void in center field and bat seventh.

Thomas went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.

Thomas was part of a productive lower third of the order that drove in all six of Arizona's runs. His third-inning single off Jose Quintana delivered the team's final two runs and held up as the game-winning knock. Those were his first RBI in nine contests. Thomas doesn't usually start against left-handers, but the center fielder found himself in the starting nine for a second straight game against a southpaw.

Thomas went 3-for-5 with a steal and one RBI in Sunday's 6-5 loss at Colorado.

The Arizona outfielder notched his fifth three-hit performance of the season, as he also swiped his sixth base. Thomas has been filling an everyday role for the Diamondbacks since Aug. 1, hitting .298 (17-for-57) with two homers, two doubles, six runs scored and six RBI across 15 games this month. The 25-year-old is now slashing .251/.295/.380 with 40 runs scored and 33 RBI in 363 total plate appearances.

Thomas went 2-for-5 with two doubles in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to Texas.

Thomas continued a surge this month and has gone 12-for-32 (.375) with two doubles, two home runs, five RBI and five runs over nine August games. His bat has always trailed his glove in the majors -- Thomas entered the year with a .629 OPS over his first three seasons -- but he's shown modest improvement in 2025. The 24-year-old outfielder is slashing .256/.302/.395 with eight home runs, 32 RBI and 39 runs over 102 contests.

The outfielder has gone deep three times in his last six games and is up to eight homers on the year. Monday's performance moved his OPS over .700 for the first time since June 11.
