Asher (2-5) was tagged for six runs on six hits and two walks in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to the White Sox. He struck out just a single batter over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
The totals from Asher's last four appearances: 17.1 innings, 22 hits, seven walks, 19 runs (all earned). While the early returns were more positive for him, Asher's low upside and homer-prone nature make him a tough own in fantasy. He'll face off with the Cardinals on Sunday.

Asher (2-4) allowed five runs over four innings with six strikeouts and four walks Thursday in Baltimore's 6-0 loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to Thursday, Asher had only one poor outing in a starter's role, but his performance against the Nationals was pretty subpar. He came into the game with three quality starts, as the 25-year-old had been between various bullpen roles and spot starts all season before being recently inserted into the starting rotation. It will be interesting to see if the Orioles keep him there, while other potential options include Ubaldo Jimenez.

Asher will make another start Thursday against the Nationals, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Buck Showalter will keep Asher in the rotation for at least another turn after Asher's quality start victory over the Red Sox on Friday. He held Boston to three hits over 6.1 innings while fanning five batters and allowing zero walks. Despite his strong bounce back Friday, Asher has shown to be hittable in previous outings, as evidenced by his six-run drubbing at the hands of the Astros on May 28. He'll face a Nationals lineup that figures to be back to full strength with Bryce Harper nearing the end of his suspension.

Asher (2-3) allowed two runs on three hits while striking out five over 6.1 innings to earn the win Friday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Asher had a 3-1 lead going into the seventh inning, but after giving up another run, the bullpen took over to close out the victory. After getting rocked in his last start, this outing likely will buy him more time in the rotation with Ubaldo Jimenez remaining relegated to the bullpen. For now, Asher remains a speculative add for fantasy owners, as his 3.62 ERA was mostly established through his work in the bullpen. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Nationals.

Asher will start Friday against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old Asher was knocked around for six runs in just two innings against Houston on Sunday, but Baltimore will not reverse course and return Ubaldo Jimenez to the rotation -- not yet anyway. Jimenez went six innings in relief of Asher and allowed just two runs on five hits with five strikeouts and zero walks. Another poor showing from Asher could result in the two players flip-flopping roles once again.

Ashler (1-3) allowed six runs on six hits (one home run) while walking one and striking out one over just two innings in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't a good first start as he takes Ubaldo Jimenez's rotation spot. Asher had allowed four runs combined in his previous two starts this year, and his ERA rose to 3.77 in the 54-pitch effort. The right-hander may not be long for the rotation himself with just 23 strikeouts in 31 innings so far this season. Because he's been pitching in relief, Asher provides little upside with his inability to go deep into games, too.

Asher is listed as the starter for Sunday's game against the Astros, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear whether Asher will stick in the rotation beyond Sunday, but this could signal the end of Ubaldo Jimenez's time as a starter for the Orioles. Asher has been one of the steadiest presences in the Orioles' bullpen this year, notching a 2.07 ERA with a 1.07 WHIP over 29.0 innings (11 appearances), and he's also been effective when called upon as a starter. In his two other starts this season, Asher has recorded a 2.92 ERA with a 0.89 WHIP over 12.1 innings. If Asher is similarly crisp against the Astros on Sunday, it could be his ticket to the rotation.

Asher was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
This is his second trip to the big leagues so far this season, and he has worked as a starter and a reliever thus far for the O's. With Wade Miley (leg) day-to-day, there might be an opportunity for a spot start coming up, otherwise he would be used as a long reliever.

Asher was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Asher pitched well in his spot start Tuesday, but following Wednesday's contest in which the bullpen was used heavily, he'll head back to the minors to give Gabriel Ynoa a chance to bolster the relief corps. Asher could find his way back up to the big leagues relatively soon thanks to his solid performance, although Chris Tillman's (shoulder) impending return from the DL could make things too crowded in the big leagues for Asher to get a fair shake.

Asher (1-1) allowed the Red Sox to score three runs on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts over six innings in Tuesday's loss.
EDGE Analysis
His two starts have both been solid, but Asher's been the beneficiary of a .208 BABIP; thanks to that, his ERA is a shiny 3.14, but his FIP is a hideous 5.08. Nonetheless, Asher will probably continue drawing any spot starts the Orioles need to fill, otherwise serving in a relief role.
