Wainwright didn't factor in the decision in Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Round against the Padres after allowing two runs on six hits with three strikeouts and two walks over 3.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander was staked an early 4-0 lead and held the Friars off the board through three frames, but he ran into trouble during the fourth inning. It's an underwhelming performance in what could be his final outing of the season, as the Cardinals will need to win Game 3 on Friday if Wainwright is to pitch again in 2020.

Wainwright will start Game 2 of the NL Wild Car Series on Thursday against the Padres, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright finished the 2020 regular season with a 3.15 ERA, his lowest ERA since the 2015 campaign when he hurled just 28 innings. The veteran right-hander will take the mound against a San Diego team that managed to lock up the No. 4 seed during the regular season.

Wainwright (5-3) allowed three runs on eight hits (two home runs) and a walk while striking out three across 6.2 innings Saturday as he was dealt the loss against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright was humming along until the fourth when he surrendered back-to-back solo home runs to Ryan Braun and Daniel Vogelbach that give the Brewers a 2-0 lead. He was able to keep them off the board until the seventh, when Omar Narvaez singled home Orlando Arcia to extend the Brewers' lead to 3-0. Saturday's loss marked the first time that Wainwright has dropped consecutive starts this season; however, the veteran has enjoyed a nice bounceback campaign in which he posted a 3.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB across 65.2 regular-season innings.

EDGE Analysis
Wainwright started out sharp, cruising through four shutout innings to start the evening. He yielded a run in the fifth before coughing up three hits, two walks, and two runs in the sixth before he was yanked. The 39-year-old righty is sporting a 3.05 ERA and 51:14 K:BB. Wainwright will make his final regular-season start this weekend at home against Milwaukee.

Wainwright (5-1) picked up the win while tossing a complete game (seven innings) in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Brewers, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander fell behind 2-0 early on Keston Hiura's two-run homer in the first. Those would be the only two runs he would allow, however, as he settled in to fan nine in a complete-game victory. Wainwright has now logged a quality start in each of his last four outings, allowing just nine earned runs and striking out 28 across 28.1 innings during that span. He will look to stay on a roll when he takes the ball Monday in Kansas City.

Wainwright (4-1) allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in Friday's loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright was a little generous with baserunners Friday, and Joey Votto made him pay early with a two-run homer in the first inning. Eugenio Suarez also knocked an RBI double against Wainwright. The right-hander has produced five quality starts in seven outings this year. He has a 2.91 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 35 strikeouts across 46.1 innings. Wainwright's next turn is expected to be in one of Wednesday's two games versus the Brewers.

Wainwright (4-0) allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six over 6.1 innings as he earned the win in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Outside of allowing a pair of solo home runs by Ian Happ, Wainwright kept the Cubs' offense in check to earn his second consecutive save. The right-hander has been dominant out of the Cardinals' rotation this year as he now carries a 2.68 ERA and 0.92 WHIP over 40.1 innings across his first six starts of 2020. His next start could come at home Thursday against the Tigers as part of another doubleheader.

Wainwright (3-0) allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine across nine innings to earn the win Sunday against Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright logged 122 pitches to turn in the 23rd complete game of his career and his first in four seasons. He allowed a two-run homer to Tyler Naquin in the second inning, but went on to dominate from there with the only other extra-base hit coming on a ground-rule double from Cesar Hernandez. Wainwright racked up an impressive 31 called strikes while recording his highest strikeout total of the campaign. Overall, Wainwright has now maintained a 2.65 ERA with 25 strikeouts across 34 innings this season. He is in line to draw his next start Saturday at the Cubs.

Wainwright allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
While he didn't come away with the win, Wainwright pitched fairly well, inducing 13 swinging strikes and getting through seven innings on 98 pitches. He has now given up a homer in back-to-back outings, but otherwise Wainwright has been a bright spot for the Cardinals, providing quality innings and valuable length since the team's COVID-19 outbreak. Overall, Wainwright has a 2.88 ERA and 16:6 K:BB in 25 innings. He lines up for a second start this week, Sunday versus Cleveland.

Wainwright did not factor into the decision against the Reds on Thursday, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits while striking out four across seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Two costly defensive errors by Paul Goldschmidt and Brad Miller caused a pair of runs to score in the first inning, putting the Cardinals in an early deficit. Wainwright then gave up a home run to Freddy Galvis in the second, and an RBI double to Mike Moustakas in the third. The right-hander was poised for the loss when he left the game after the seventh, but luckily his offense came through to save him in the end. Wainwright was making only his third start of the season thanks to a 17-day layoff following the Cardinals' COVID-19 outbreak. He'll take on Kansas City on Tuesday.
