Adam Plutko (CLE, SP) - Waiver Wire Pickups rotoballer.com Wed 8/22/18 6:38 AM
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 8% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Months ago we had Cleveland Indians starting pitchers Adam Plutko and Shane Bieber battling for one rotation spot, but Trevor Bauer's injury, combined with Cleveland's cushy lead in the AL Central, means both should finish out the regular season in the rotation. Plutko bought some leash by tossing seven innings of three-run ball against Baltimore in his first start back, though he had some misfortune there.
He all[...]
Week 21 Waiver Wire - Starting Pitchers rotoballer.com Wed 8/22/18 4:00 AM
I hope you're all ready to do whatever it takes in these last six weeks of the season to win. It might mean dropping a big name for a streamer or, if you still have trades, "losing the trade" to win the league. Don't be shy about your needs and don't be ignorant of how many innings you and your opponents have left in roto formats. Don't overlook how your H2H playoff opponent's rosters are constructed. This is crunch time.
If you want to chat more about additional arms/bats/whatever, you can f[...]
Are You For Real? Surprising SP Starts (Week 21) rotoballer.com Tue 8/21/18 3:30 AM
Welcome to our surprising starts series. Every week we'll be going over a few surprising starting pitcher performances around the majors to determine whether these starts were smoke and mirrors or something more.
With the season winding down there aren't as many waiver wire options that haven't already been covered, and boy was there a dearth of good starts to choose from this week.
Normally three pitchers are covered in this article, but quite frankly there weren't three surprising starts[...]
Start/Sit Matchups - Starting Pitchers (8/20 - 8/26) rotoballer.com Mon 8/20/18 3:10 AM
Welcome back, RotoBallers, hopefully all your teams are right in the thick of things as we prepare for the fantasy baseball home stretch! As always, we're here to try and help with your daily/weekly lineups. I'm filling in for the regular @Roto_Dubs this week, as he has "real life" stuff to attend to. For those who aren't familiar, this is our fifth year now writing this weekly column, helping fantasy baseball managers pick the best pitchers weekly.
Below are the projected starting pitching[...]
Adam Plutko Posts a Quality Start But Loses rotoballer.com Sat 8/18/18 9:09 PM
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Adam Plutko put up a quality start on Saturday but ended up with a loss. He pitched seven innings, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk while striking out six. Plutko should stick in the rotation as long as he pitches well, but he's not much of a fantasy option outside of AL-only leagues.
Adam Plutko Called Up To Start Saturday rotoballer.com Sat 8/18/18 9:00 AM
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Adam Plutko was called up from Triple-A Columbus to start against the Orioles on Saturday. Reliever Tyler Olson was optioned to Columbus in a corresponding move. In Plutko's six starts for the Tribe in 2018, he's gone 4-2 with a 4.67 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 6.2 K/9 in 34 2/3 innings. He's not the best streamer, but he's certainly attractive against the worst team in baseball this weekend.
Greg Allen Recalled, Adam Plutko Optioned to Triple A rotoballer.com Mon 7/30/18 12:50 PM
Cleveland Indians outfielder Greg Allen has been recalled from Triple A on Monday. In a corresponding move the Indians have optioned pitcher Adam Plutko to Triple-A Columbus. Allen has not done much with the bat this season, but he gives the Indians depth in the outfield. Allen will start in the outfield and bat ninth against righty Ervin Santana on Monday. DFS owners should not bother using Allen against Santana.
Brad Hand to Indians - Fantasy Implications rotoballer.com Fri 7/20/18 4:15 AM
News broke on July 19 that Padres closer Brad Hand will be moving to the shores of Lake Erie and donning the home blue of the Cleveland baseball club. In a move that many predicted, but that no one actually saw happening, the Cleveland bullpen adds not only the lefty but also another useful piece in Adam Cimber. In a weird, deja vu move the Cleveland front office has now once again traded a top prospect for a reliever, and a lefty reliever at that.
The news is significant in that a top 15 [...]
Adam Plutko Gets His First Major League Save rotoballer.com Wed 7/11/18 7:24 PM
Cleveland Indians pitcher Adam Plutko earned the first save of his career on Wednesday. It was the three-inning variety of save, as Plutko actually tossed four innings, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks. He struck out four and allowed two home runs. It wasn't a great outing by any means, but he closed out a 19-4 win and saved the Cleveland bullpen. It'll almost certainly be the only save of the season for Plutko, and quite possibly the only one of his career.
Rookie Report: Recent MLB Prospect Call-Ups (Week 14) rotoballer.com Thu 7/5/18 3:45 AM
So Kyle Tucker is still destroying the minor leagues. He has a .301/.367/.505 triple-slash with 13 HR and 14 steals (82.4% success rate) and yet the Astros have not given him the call yet. Tucker has absolutely nothing left to prove in the minors and the Astros have indicated that they think he will come up at some point this year. I think it will be sooner rather than later.
Aside from Tucker, though, we don't have much information regarding who will be up in the coming weeks. There will ha[...]
