He'll cede his spot in the outfield to Roman Quinn in the series finale, ending a stretch of six consecutive starts for the rookie. Though he looked at risk of seeing his opportunities decline when the Phillies acquired another lefty-hitting outfielder (Corey Dickerson) from the Pirates on Wednesday, Haseley should be able to retain a regular job with Philadelphia having since optioned everyday third baseman Maikel Franco to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. With Franco out of the picture, Scott Kingery will likely move out of the outfield and handle the bulk of the starts at the hot corner.

Haseley will start in left field and bat seventh Thursday against the Giants.

Haseley will pick up his fourth consecutive start in the left field as the Phillies and Giants wrap up their series, but the rookie's time as an everyday player could be coming to an end. The Phillies picked up Corey Dickerson from the Pirates ahead of Wednesday's trade deadline, and he's expected to slot in as the Phillies' primary left fielder when he joins the team ahead of Friday's game against the White Sox. A platoon arrangement won't be a viable solution, as both Haseley and Dickerson bat from the left side.

Haseley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI in Sunday's win over Atlanta.

Haseley slugged a solo homer to center field in the third inning and tacked on an insurance run in the seventh with an RBI single to right. Though his time in the major leagues has been brief (17 games), he's registered three home runs and eight RBI thus far.

Haseley took Ross Stripling deep in the second inning to record his first big-league home run. He's struggled through his first 25 plate appearances in Philadelphia, hitting .217/.280/.435. However, he'll have the chance to improve on those results, as he'll get regular at-bats so long as Jay Bruce (oblique) remains sidelined.

Manager Gabe Kapler suggested Wednesday that he's committed to giving Haseley regular at-bats following Jay Bruce's (oblique) move to the injured list, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports. "We have a much better idea of Nick Williams and who he is, in a similar way to a lot of the players, because we've had longer looks with them than we have with Adam, who we don't know yet and want to find out by giving him opportunities," Kapler said of the rookie. "We're looking to do that with Adam."

EDGE Analysis

Williams was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a move that corresponded with Bruce's placement on the IL, but as Kapler alluded to, the Phillies have already had a chance to get a good evaluation on Williams during parts of three seasons in the big leagues. As such, Williams looks set to fill a fourth- or fifth-outfielder role while Haseley gets his shot as an everyday player while Bruce is likely out for at least the next two weeks. Haseley will draw a third straight start in the outfield Thursday against the Dodgers and will bat eighth.

The eighth pick in the 2017 draft, Haseley made his first two career big-league appearances back in early June before promptly straining his left groin. He looks like mostly a bench outfielder for now, since he's left-handed and therefore can't platoon with Jay Bruce in left field and since Scott Kingery is having a breakout campaign in center. Sean Rodriguez (abdomen) landed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Haseley (groin) was activated off the 10-day injured list Friday and optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Haseley landed on the IL on June 8 with the left groin strain and has no clear path to playing time with the Phillies while Roman Quinn and Scott Kingery split time in center field.
