Sabato has been promoted to Double-A Wichita.
EDGE Analysis
Sabato was hitting .226 with 17 home runs and a .799 OPS at High-A Cedar Rapids. Sabato has a high strikeout rate (31.9 percent) but does draw walks (14.5 percent). He'll likely need to make more contact at higher levels to succeed, but the 2020 No. 27 overall pick could continue to advance as a three-true outcomes masher.

Sabato is hitting .186/.370/.319 through 32 games for Low-A Fort Myers, though he's hitting .286 with a .947 OPS in his last ten games.
EDGE Analysis
The 27th overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft got off to a slow start, which may not be a surprise since he didn't play in 2020 due to the pandemic. Despite his struggles, he has an encouraging 20.5 BB%. He needs to make more contact (57.5% contact rate) to continue to improve.

The Twins announced Monday that Sabato will receive an invitation to big-league spring training as a non-roster invitee.
EDGE Analysis
Sabato, Trevor Larnach, Royce Lewis and Matt Canterino are among the Twins' higher-rated prospects who will get a look with the big club this spring. A 2020 first-round draft pick, Sabato has yet to debut in affiliated ball after the most recent minor-league season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since the 21-year-old joined the organization last summer following two seasons of college ball at North Carolina, he'll likely be in line for a brief stay at the rookie-ball level -- if at all -- before heading to a full-season affiliate.
