Aaron Hicks is back in Wednesday's lineup against the Red Sox. Hicks didn't start Tuesday's game, but later entered as a defensive replacement. The rookie center fielder drew the ire of Twins manager Ron Gardenhire after he casually flipped the baseball after making a catch, but things have apparently smoothed over. He'll bat eighth against right-hander Allen Webster.

Aaron Hicks is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Red Sox. Hicks isn't hurt, but the rookie outfielder is sitting due to what is being called a "manager's decision." Wilkin Ramirez will make the start in center field and bat eighth against right-hander Ryan Dempster.

Aaron Hicks hit his first major league home run in a loss to the Indians on Saturday afternoon. Hicks' blast was a solo shot off Scott Kazmir in the fifth inning. He finished 1-for-3 plus a walk, and still owns a horrifying .123/.242/.198 batting line on the season. The youngster is a candidate to be sent back to Triple-A once Darin Mastroianni returns from the disabled list.

Aaron Hicks is not in Monday's lineup against the Angels. Hicks is hitting .047 (2-for-43) with 20 strikeouts over his first 10 games in the majors and could be looking at a demotion if he doesn't turn things around quickly. Darin Mastroianni will start in his place in center field Monday.

Aaron Hicks went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Saturday afternoon's loss to the Mets. Hicks is now batting .047 with a .155 OPS and 20 strikeouts in 43 at-bats. He has a bright future but clearly isn't ready for the highest level of competition. The Twins are likely to send him to the minors soon.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Friday that he'll continue to use the struggling Aaron Hicks out of the leadoff spot for now. Hicks is just 2-for-35 (.057) with a 16/2 K/BB ratio over his first nine games. Gardenhire admitted that the club has discussed moving him down, but they'll give him a chance to get out of his funk first.

Aaron Hicks delivered a two-run single in Thursday's win over the Tigers. Hicks was 0-for-11 with seven strikeouts and two walks to begin his major league career, so this was nice to see. There will likely be some growing pains offensively, but the Twins figure to be extra patient thanks to his excellent defense in center field. If he can steal 20-plus bases and top double-digits in homers, he'll be pretty valuable in deeper mixed leagues.

Making his major league debut, Aaron Hicks struck out in his first three at-bats Monday before grounding out and drawing a walk. Facing Justin Verlander on a cold day, the strikeouts are forgivable. Really, they're forgivable facing Justin Verlander on any day. Still, Hicks' debut didn't prove quite as memorable as Jackie Bradley Jr.'s earlier in the day.

Aaron Hicks was officially named the Twins' center fielder after going 4-for-4 against the Blue Jays on Sunday. The big game raised his spring average to .350. We don't expect Hicks to be a big asset in average or the power categories as a rookie, so his mixed-league value figures to hinge on his steal total. He swiped 32 bases in Double-A last year, and if he approaches that number for the Twins, he'll probably be a decent mixed outfield. If he comes in closer to 15-20, like he did in his previous two full minor league seasons, then his value could be limited to AL-only leagues.
