Once the iPhone app and rotisserie / total points options are complete. We will begin working on our next series of upgrades. Below are our current thoughts - please let us know if you disagree with our priority order.

1. Overhaul live draft

2. Improve email draft

3. Overhaul message board

4. Real time chat

5. Transaction limits

6. Improve injury updates

Shawnt0711 Thu 10/20/11 7:39 PM

The most important aspect my league is missing is the real time chat! We moved over from CBS and they are all ticked about no chat! After seeing it in the draft we thought for sure we could do it during games! Very misleading.....

Volt Tue 3/23/10 10:21 PM

So, what is the status on the roto stuff? Season starts in 2 weeks and no confirmation on when roto scoring will be available. Will it at least be available before the season starts?

Volt Wed 3/24/10 7:18 PM

???

scotto1959 Wed 3/24/10 8:19 PM

Very good question Mike. I was thinking of planting tomatos right after roto-tilling my garden, then it hit me, why not wait and try to answer some questions here on flea??? I think I'll just plant some peppers instead. Hope this helps and thank you.

I have to say I doubt it..This has been asked numerous times by a bunch of posters and we either get no answer at all or just an answer of "yes soon"..

I dont care either way, I mean yeah it would be nice to get H2H Cats before opening day so I can set up some real leagues but if its not gonna happen then tell us so we can move on and wait until next year..

Im not a comp wizard so I really dont know what it takes to get this done and why its taking so long...So im gonna guess since its taking this long to program it(since last year when flea launched baseball, roto and H2H Cats where said to be in the works) that the chances of this getting into flea system in the next 10 days are slim and none..

scotto1959 Thu 3/25/10 12:13 PM

Thank you Ryan, and Orgy is working on it as we speak, it should be very soon. By the way, what are you planting in your garden this year? I've got tomatos and peppers, maybe I'll plant an onion and make some salsa for the superbowl.

deen Thu 3/25/10 12:46 PM

They'll get it done, they leave small hints about it..Like this thread and Ori making a post about a month ago in a different saying he tweaked with the hoops scoreboard and team pages getting it ready for roto and H2H Cats..

Its just not knowing when and it being so close to opening that makes it frustrating..Not really frustrating but you know what I mean..

Again, im not a comp Wiz, so why does it take so long? Does programming cost money or can Ori and his staff only tweak with stuff once a month or cant it be done until fantasy hoops is over?

FFCSR_Doug Thu 3/25/10 3:19 PM

We are working extremely hard to get rotisserie completed by the start of the MLB season. In all honesty, it will be close and we do not want to make any guarantees one way or the other at this moment.

Did Hal eat your pepper. I bet he thought it looked yummy.

luke1982 Thu 3/25/10 11:26 PM

I guess he's not a fan of peppers. Might have been a little intimidating for him.

Volt Mon 3/22/10 2:02 PM

How about improving the player search function? Unless you know exactly how to spell someone's name it is impossible to find him.

Make it so that it also searches for similar names and allows people to search using just the first couple of letters of the last name, i.e. type in Morn and it will bring up Morneau as a possible match.

iamgregg Mon 3/22/10 5:37 PM

Good idea. Adding a wildcard into the database search query should be a small job I'd imagine.

Volt Tue 3/23/10 10:20 PM

Yeah, it should be pretty easy.

maricoholland Mon 3/22/10 1:24 PM

Overhaul the live draft is huge, we had a terrible time with it last year and it is a need as we have people from all over the US in our leagues.

deen Sat 3/20/10 11:55 AM

I have 2 questions about everybodys opinions :

1. Are you guys just talking football

and

2. If you not talking about just football are you just talking about weekley leagues then? Because if you are, theres a huge difference between weekly and dailey leagues and that would explain why some of you are saying starting icons, transaction limits and injury updates are a non issue.

scotto1959 Sat 3/20/10 1:13 PM

Yes Ryan, I'm all about football, could care less about basketball, baseball, hockey, girls beach volleyball. So it really isn't fair to you guys that like these things, but I'm hoping they can iron this stuff out by fall???

deen Sat 3/20/10 4:50 PM

I like girls beach volleyball, the best asses in the world can be seen in girls beach volleyball! :)

Fall? Man, I hope they have this stuff ironed out in the next week or 2..Opening day is April 4th!

FleaMod Admin Sat 3/20/10 4:54 PM

The site in general - both weekly and daily leagues would be affected (positively) by changes we make in the future

scotto1959 Sat 3/20/10 5:11 PM

DOES THAT MEAN THAT MOLINA IS OUTFIELD ELEGIBLE?

scotto1959 Sat 3/20/10 5:14 PM

According to Lisa at Fanball he's ranked number 3 right behind Lew Alcinder and Rocky Balboa???

[Deleted User] Thu 3/18/10 7:30 PM

Those 6 are in perfect order in my opinion. Want to attract and keep members. The site has to get them in and hook them from the beginning of their experience which begins with the drafts. If their experience starts out crappy or with a feeling of cheap or rinky dink they will leave. Once you get someone hooked they will stick around and keep requesting specific upgrades like some of us already do.

[Deleted User] Thu 3/18/10 7:41 PM

Actually after reading this again I would also agree that 1 and 2 need to be switched around. Live drafts aren't for everyone as not everyone can make the draft date. So the site tends to miss out on a large fantasy population because there is no option for them. But an email draft is for everyone. If an email draft has the right options it is the only way to go. And it gives members unlimited options.

scotto1959 Fri 3/19/10 9:19 AM

I have to disagree Sid. The draft is important, but the game itself and all the side attractions are what it's all about. Building rivalries, talking trash, TRADES ( this system is what needs an overhaul ), the whole season is based on having fun for the whole season. I think the draft, though important, is just a small part of the overall fantasy experience. I'm still all for adding a accumlating coach rating to the leagues, just to see how your player knowledge adds up against your league. Gives the guys with rotten teams something to shoot for. Look at how the tards went nuts over legos, think they care about the draft???

[Deleted User] Sat 3/20/10 10:59 AM

I agree totally with what you're saying. But the member has to start out with a good experience or they won't stick around for anything else. Of the six items they wanted ranked, I ranked in the order I think they need to improve to make the experience a good one for the start. Nothing like joining a league and having the draft lock up on you without any way to pause or fix. Nobody likes to be bored and wait days to make a pick. Since the site is free, I think they need to improve in a different order than if it were a pay site. When money is at stack people tend to stick around and not waste their spent money. When it's free they can just say fuck it, the draft sucks and leave. Fixing/upgrading both drafts and a new modern message board will go a long way in retention of current members and bringing in new ones. I would like to see a new color scheme to the site or the ability to add sports team theme colors to a person's homepage...

deen Sat 3/20/10 11:51 AM

I guess it just depends on how you look at it..If you like detail and like chatting, you'll want message boards and the chat boxes..If you dont wanna make friends and wanna win, you'll want the necessary gadgets like starting icons, injury updates, transaction limits, etc, etc..

I agree about the live draft, but in most cases the draft is fine, it usually comes down the persons comp thats the problem, not really Fleas system other than the baseball rankes were terrible but flea has fixed that..And lets be honest, its not very often that the entire league will show up for a draft anyways..Matter of fact, the other night we had a draft and somebody didnt show because he couldnt (comp problem) and I told him he still had a good team for not showing up and he said "yeah, maybe it was best I didnt show up"..

Slow drafts are not for everybody, I did one last year and it took 10 days to finish, I went fkn nuts! And every year me and some message board buddies do a slow draft on antsports and import the rosters on flea as we go and it takes 2 + weeks to finish..If you're not patient, slow drafts arent for you, lol..

Lets say for an example, some seasoned vets from espn and yahoo get tired of those sites and look for something else..They wont be looking for cool message boards and e-mail drafts, they'll want the gadgets to win instead.

[Deleted User] Sat 3/20/10 1:15 PM

I want it all roflmao... Improved drafts, message boards and tools. And I think we'll eventually have it all here and still be free. But where do they start is the big question.

deen Sat 3/20/10 4:55 PM

Lol, I want it all to..Just wish they'd pick up the pace a little.

Still love Fleaflicker though, when I found this site 3-4 years ago I knew I wouldnt leave it as I think its the best site out there and I turned on about 20 something members to flea and they all love it to...

Just a few tweaks and twists and it wont even be debatable who has the best fantasy site on the internet.

scotto1959 Thu 3/18/10 9:26 AM

Lets face it, we all like flea. I like it because a little guy like Ori had the balls to start it and hang with it. I know it's not NFL.com, ESPN, Yahoo or 1 of 15 other sites I could mention that have everything that we are asking for here. If they want to play with the big boys and have the people involved that love the game as well as the novice, all these items are required and not on a this should be first basis. Advertisers pay for people that use the site. More players, more money. Guys I play with on other sites won't even concider flea as it's so stone aged, when they can have what they want/need on another site. I e-mailed over 50 of my playing buds with the news of this phone app. My main response back was WTF are you talking about.

DARKSEID Thu 3/18/10 9:57 AM

When it comes down to it I feel they are in a hurry to get the iphone app. out because Yahoo announced theirs would be out soon as well.

FFCSR_Doug Thu 3/18/10 12:32 PM

Would like to clarify something on the app - it is not just about competing with other fantasy sports app like Yahoo's Fantasy Baseball '10 or ESPN's Fantasy Football '09. It is intended for Fleaflicker users to manage all their teams, but also for any sports fan with an iPhone. There are pro scores that we believe are better than ESPN's Scorecenter or Sportacular. There is searchable news that no other app has. You can follow live fantasy leader boards and even import your fantasy roster from another site if you don't want to pay for their app. It is something that we know is not for everyone as we recognize there are a lot of people who don't have an iPhone or iPod. However for those that do we intend to have the best sports product out there.

luke1982 Wed 3/17/10 10:18 PM

1. improve the e-mail draft

2. real time chat

3. overhaul message board

4. improve injury updates

5. overhaul live draft

6. transaction limits

Getting rankings in on time would be a plus also.
