Suggested option: reveal the value (but not the identity of the bidder) of the SECOND best blind bid when the successful bids are announced:

Blind Faith claimed Tim Tebow, QB-NYJ ($34, next best $14)

The practical advantage is that it would allow commissioners to adjust the money so that the amount paid is $1 more than the second best bid, or a maximum 10% more. Some have requested the ability to do that.

Even if you don't believe that to be a good idea, think of the entertainment value! Some owners would get the "overbidder" reputation quickly, and message boards would be filled with new sources for comments. "Really? Only $14? Wait until I become the starter!" Others would carefully guard their "cheap" reputation before making a quick, lethal, and unexpected killing.

Seems to be a simple tweak that would add a lot to the fun and unpredictability of Blind Bidding. Why not add it as an option?

It's a good suggestion, and we thank you for being on Fleaflicker for so long. I agree that it would add some fun, but it also takes away a bit of strategy.

Additionally, it takes a bit of tweaking on our end to do that; but I will put it on our to-do list. It's not high on the agenda, but certainly worth looking into possibly adding for the reasons you explained (also not high because it doesn't directly affect game play). Thanks, Bruce.

Have I been on here that long? It seems like only yesterday that I made The Ultimate Argument ("guys, if it's free it means more money for the winners") at our summer Rules Meeting before the big switch. :)
