We now support "slow" or E-mail drafts where draft selections are made on the site with unlimited selection time. Owners are notified of selections via E-mail (make sure you have your preferences set to receive E-mails).
The commish can make selections for any team.
This can serve as an alternative of a few requested features for the live draft like pausing the draft.
There's also a feature to finish a slow draft in the live draft room. This is useful because you can take your time with the important early picks and still finish the draft quickly for the less important late-round picks.
There are likely some bugs so let us know if something isn't working properly.
Does the commish choose which player is selected for the owner or does the commish just make the system take the next player on the owner's list ranking?

I think the key step is #2. I will add a restriction that no live drafts can be scheduled less than 30 minutes in the future.
This way, nobody accidentally sets the draft too soon and launches the live draft.
As for the roster editing/slow draft bug, that was an important find and pretty rare. It required the exact sequence of events above.
This new slow draft option opens up the possibility for other types of appealing drafts that are done in non-fleaflicker leagues and would be good to have here:
1)concurrent, but separate, drafts for AFC and NFC players that snake in opposite orders.
2) concurrent, but separate, drafts for rookie and veteran free agents in keeper and dynasty leagues.
I think option #1 would be popular. These options would certainly bring new eyeballs/business to fleaflicker.

i can't find any public leagues with this kind of draft. is it that only private leagues can use this, or just that no public ones like this exist yet?
could u add like a Pre-Draft Selection so you can keep things moving with the pre-draft option, so the system picks for them if they're not available when it's their turn. they set the players they want and if that player is still their it picks it for them.
also i would like at least a time limit. i am glad ya'll added this feature. thanks

Also, it looks like there is unlimited time between picks; is this correct? There should still be an option for a maximum amount of time between picks (measured in hours) after which auto-pick selects from the owner's list.

The commish chooses the player.
Currently rankings aren't integrated into the system.
Eventually I'll add the ability to sort players on the players tab by your rankings and maybe auto-pick from rankings as you suggest.
But for now pre-draft rankings have nothing to do with the slow draft.

I think you need to integrate the auto-pick rankings ASAP. The current set-up is sure to get owners very angry at the commish.

I'm not sure what happened. It looks like your league has complex keeper/trade settings which may have triggered it. I'll investigate.
Were you able to restore everything?

how exactly does this work? when you get the email that it is your pick, do you get a specific link to click on to make your pick?

You can always start a draft, make some test selections, and then click "clear rosters" to reset back to the original status.

The way to handle this for now is the commissioner can make the pick for the owners who is not available.
What you outlined would have to be in a future upgrade.
