We currently have a 12-man league that we've been running with for the last 4 years. The group ranges in experience but everyone seems to enjoy it rather than the conventional leagues. I'd like to expand the league size with others in our personal circles, but wanted some thoughts of whether or not this league setup is somewhat unique, or if it's becoming more common. Or, frankly, if it's overkill for this game.

Auction draft - bidders can start with any player they wish, rather than rankings based selection

4 year keeper cycle, resets completely after 4th year

Teams must keep exactly 4 players on roster years 2-4

Player can be drafted for virtually any amount, however, the player value changes based on the difference of price paid in previous draft and new auction value placed by a reputable fantasy website. SO, if you draft player for $1.00, you only spend $1.00 for that year. The following year, player is valued on the website at $10.00. The difference between the drafted value and the projected value is $5.00, so that is what the owner may keep the player for.

1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 D, 1 K...no flex

Transaction fees applied to: Adding, dropping, trades, moves (max 2) to IR.

Scoring is what we would consider performance based. We take into account QB completion %, which has an 8 point scale from worst to best. All other QB scoring, and other offensive scoring is fairly standard.

Defensively, we place a heavy emphasis on stopping 3rd and 4th downs, as well as 4th down conversions, penalties, and penalty yards. Defensive scoring varies HEAVILY...from -20 points to 30 or 40 points on any given week. Average scoring was somewhere between 8-12 points.

We do have negative scoring for any category, if necessary.

League Winner (top 3) keeps league buy-in

NFL Pick'em (side game) winners will receive all transaction fees accumulated.

I appreciate any worthwhile feedback on this format and any improvements that may be made. Thanks so much!

Flea doesn't support your team defense setting. IDP might be a better way to go.
