I'm losing by 4 points and an playing against Jameis Winston, so I was excited when I saw a fumble snap. I always thought the fumble went to the QB in these circumstances, at least it always seemed to when it was my QB. I asked fleaflicker and they sent me the play and it reads the fumble was given to the center. I didn't know this was possible, I thought it was always given to the QB. I searched the net and couldn't find a ruling anywhere. Anyone know what the rule is?
I get similar questions on fumble and always refer to the NFL.COM official scoring to cover my bases. I had one go against me and ended up losing a point but I decided to refer to the "official scoring" just to put it to bed. Trying to interpret NFL rules is like asking what is a "catch".

When did they start giving fumbles to the center on a muffed snap?

Never to my knowledge, I mean the Center passes the ball backwards so how can that be a fumble? It has to be the QB IMO so I'm with you on this.
