I know fleaflicker makes their own call on the injury status of players. I've seen the statement that they changed the status of a player because everyone knew he was going to play. Yet they leave other players such as Mendenhall as questionable when everyone knows he's not going to play.

I'm not saying what is right and wrong. I'm just wondering what the standard is for adjusting a guys status. Is there a standard or is it just somebody's whim? I would like to know what FF uses to determine the status so I don't wind up with a half the time legal half the time illegal roster.

Our statistics provider actually makes these calls. Shortly, here is how it works:

1) Players are changed based upon practice reports throughout the week. They do their best not to play doctor.

2) Whenever a team officially changes the status of a player, they will be switched here as well. This always comes before practice reports. For instance, Mendenhall practiced all week and never was officially ruled out. Although he's highly unlikely to play, he still practiced, took contact, and we can't rule him out on the site (although he will most likely not see a touch in the Raiders game) because the Steelers have not yet.

3) Players are moved over during the game and can have their status worsened based on an injury they suffer. So for instance, during a game, if Tony Romo leaves with a concussion, his injury status can get worse on your roster; between games the NFL teams play and Wednesday morning, injury statuses will not improve or get better so they do not mess with your waivers.

Basically we look at practice reports, but official reports trump them in any state. It's the most comprehensive and exhaustive practice that any site uses. We are also usually always on top of what our statistics provider puts forward, but your suggestions are always welcome. It's tough to accommodate every user here with injuries, but we do our best. We welcome your feedback.
