This is the first year we have implemented a waiver wire claim system for free agents. I just set it up last nite, so I'm hoping this first week goes smoothly and goes the way I expected. A couple questions:
One team has already put in 2 claims for free agents (Thursday is our processing day), so the 'Front Office' of our league shows that 2 players have been cut. My question is: what happens if that team does not get both free agents he has claims in for? Will one of those players automatically be put back on his team? Or will that player remain dropped from the team, and a different player will need to be picked up?
I don't want there to be any surprises and confusion when someone "loses" a waiver wire claim, but still may have a player dropped from their roster. I'm not sure how all that will work.
Thank you very much in advance for your assistance! I am interested to see how my league reacts to this new system... well, "new" to us. Thanks again!!
The team should really not have manually cut the players. We process all claims, including conditional claims, so he could have went to add the free agent, and then the system asks what player he wants to drop. So long as the player is on his roster, it will process.
Ensure that the team's claim is not adding and dropping a player that he cut (it won't go through then).
If the team puts in a claim to drop no one and has room and does not get both free agents, the players will not be put back on his team that he dropped. They are actually on drop waivers too and will have to be re-claimed and picked up again.
I am commish of my league and we are having a similar problem. Last night we could make waiver wire bids, today when I try to claim a player it is telling me I have to drop another player first. Free agents dont open until tomorrow, blind bid processing is suppose to be processed on Wednesday. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
OK, I think I got it. But just to clarify, if I put in a waiver claim for a player, I won't be asked to drop someone unless I win that claim. Is that how the waivers work? Or will I need to choose someone to drop at the time of the waiver claim, just in case I win the claim?
I understand what happened in the situation in our league. So just want to know how it works with a "normal" waiver claim. Thanks again for all your help and clarifications!
