I know this has been talked about before, but it feels like its getting worse. Almost every time I place a claim in, the system seems to not process it and the player goes directly to free agency. That makes it like a first come first serve thing, which isn't supposed to happen with a waiver system. This is a bigger issue than future lineups in my opinion.
Waivers are a joke. I can't believe they keep claiming there are "bugs" causing the issues. The issues are a direct result of poor programming.
Just this morning the waiver system skipped right over my waiver claim and sent the guy to free agency. I have the number 1 position right now and I still have the player on my team that I had marked to drop for the waiver claim. The guy got picked up by another team and I am out of luck. Way to go flea! Keep up the poor work!
Yeah, I think flea needs to change these waiver rules..I mean who gives a crap if my whole team played before Verlander could be processed..WTF does that got to do with anything? Why should that even matter?
You're basically saying theres only a few hour window to put a claim on a player if he gets dropped late at night..
You should be able to add/drop players anytime you want to even after the games start since then the players wont be on your roster until "tomorrow" anyways..
The default setting for waivering is Dropped players and ALL free agents go to the wire AFTER the game starts. Also rosters are locked after game starts. Go to the Commish options and set the waivers rules to drop players only for the wire and trans rules set the roster lock to no and you shouldn't have this problem again. This way if a player is on the wire and you put a claim in, your roster won't be locked and the process will go through.
Not being a smartass at all here, but why can't we just click a button and claim a player. Little thing comes on and says your claim will be processed in X hours and you move on. At anytime, during any game, whenever.
Because your team had no one eligible to drop by the time Verlander would have cleared waivers, your whole team would have played for Saturday by that time. It is not a bug.
But I was able to put a claim on Verlander Friday night after he was dropped..So shouldnt my team still not have anybody eligible to drop by the time Verlander cleared waivers Midnight Saturdaynight even though I was able to do it Friday night?
Why was I able to to do it Friday night but not Saturday morning?
The only reason I cancelled the claim Saturday morning was because the player I wanted to drop for Verlander was starting today, so I decided I wanted to drop somebody else.
So again, you're telling me if a player is dropped late at night you have to put a claim on him before 6 am or you cant do it?
Whatever, I dont have time for this right now...I gotta run to Yahoo and check their live box scores so I can make sure my hitters on Fleaflicker are playing today..

If a claim clears and processes when all your players are locked in a slot because they would have just been playing, that's right you are unable to claim a player. It would have let you do it before because at that time he would have cleared, your team had players to drop as the clear time would have been at a time when your players were not locked yet (Friday Night into Saturday morning/day). The claim processing time is the reason this happened; it is not a bug - we tested everything out.
I dont think you meant it would backfire, what you should have said it could backfire. Thats a chance you have to take sometimes when you are in it to win it.
I just dont know what to tell other owners if this happens to them..In a way youre still telling me I have to put a claim on a player almost right away after hes dropped..And in this case he was dropped late friday night, what if peeps wake up Saturday morning like I did and see this but couldnt do nothing about it?

leave it dropped player only but set the trans rule to NO to locked roster after game start and when you put in a claim, your roster will be open to drop a player if the claim went through. Leave the dropped rule in place for the 24/48 hour waiver claim so that the player that get dropped from a team, he doesn't go right to free agent and become first come first serve

If you leave it the way it is, then you have the "window" that you have to get in so that a waiver claim goes through and the ability to drop aplayer to do it.
Verlander would be on his team right now if he listened to me. And he said he had lots of guys to drop for him. Do I need to go check his team and tell you the possibilities that he would not have missed. Nevermind, it won't sink in to your thick skull anyway.

This would backfire as if he was down on the WP list and somebody else claimed the player, he will be out a player with no claim.

Theres only 2 line up locking options..
1. Lock invidual players at their game start
2. Lock all players at the 1st game of the day.
There isnt any options in the transactions rules that would suggest this is the problem.

I think the admins here probably do nothing except the hokie pokie all day. It is pretty clear that nothing that may help this place is getting done.
