In my Wartown League it seems as though the tie-breaker did not work properply. There is a team who has the same record as another team but they beat them H2H and had more total points scored.
BigDig is the team who did not make it and Vendetta the team that did. Any explanation why as I have a really upset owner and, as I see it, rightfully so?
It's correct, the head-to-head breaker is skipped when 2+ teams are tied unless one team has swept the rest, in this instance there are 5 teams with that same record... It breaks his tie into a mini breaker using the no. 2 breaker, which is division record within the division, and his division record knocks him out (works like this in the NFL too). There's a detailed description of this on the right side of your playoff page too, I manually confirmed and it is right
Im still a bit confused. The team with the better division record s knocked out and the team with the worst record gets in?? Cause thats the way it is right now?? Are tie breaker rules go:
The team with the better division record swept the team with the worse division record and has more points scored?? I am talking about the #7 seed "Vendetta" and the #9 team "BigDig." BigDig swept Vendetta, has a better divisional record and more points scored - all 3 tie-breakers.
The funny thing is that last week BigDig had that spot and they won their final game but got bumbped out despite owning all the tie-breakers against the #7 seed??
Could someone please give me a good answer or fix this - We have a lot vested in this league + this is a MAJOR problem - This league is 6 years strong with lots of hours, $ + other things at stake - this is unacceptable!!!
4-way tie among DrunkenIrishmen, cellar dwellars, The Big Dig, Vendetta is broken down using Best division record (same division only) into 1 smaller tie.
-> 3-way tie among DrunkenIrishmen, cellar dwellars, Vendetta is broken down using Best head-to-head record into 1 smaller tie.
-> Best head-to-head record is used to break the tie among DrunkenIrishmen, cellar dwellars
But how does Vendetta get the #7 spot?? There is a 4 way tie for the last 2 spots. That does not explain how Vendetta gets #7??
According to this logic - It seems that Big Dig got the #7 spot as the three way tie was broken into Drunken, cellar + Vendetta.
The only two teams in the same division for the 4 way tie are Big Dig and Drunken and they have the same division record. So how was there anyway that BigDig got bumped?

It gets confusing, but he avoided elimination because he was not in the same division as the teams he was tied with in most instances, so the division breaker did not include him and he stayed safe there -- in the ones that he was, he was not swept head-to-head by any of them, while the other team was
use team names when explaining hal.actually vendetta was swept by both memphis and deciples through the season in his division while big dig split the 6 games in his division and was swept by noone.also big dig beat vendetta, has more points scored than vendetta, and also has a better div. record.your tie breaker rules are obviously flawed.if you do not agree with me then how can 4 teams from one division make the playoffs while only 2 teams from each of the other divisions made it?
It's not flawed -- The Big Dig misses the playoffs because he initially gets bounced from the first breaker by drunken irishmen due to division record
DrunkenIrishmen swept cellar dwellars head-to-head when that bigger breaker was broken down there
Other teams that advanced do so based on either their superior division record, head-to-head sweeps or because they bypassed a tiebreaker by being in a separate division or not being swept
everything is also explained in detail on the right side of your playoff page
ok...then why doesnt cellar dwellers get in ? he has tied for the best division record in the league.you say its broken down on the right side.we see that but understanding it is a totally different animal.it says something about same div only.well why would that be?if the best div. record is used to break the tie then cellar dwellers should of made it.We obviously dont understand....matt,if we switch to a different site can we import our old stats?
Plus, cellar dwellers lost every single game to the other teams that are 6-7 so there is no way he could have gotten in. The first tie-breaker doesn't apply to him and the second is failed against every team he is tied with.
the real matter rests in big dig missing out of playoffs by a worse team because of these "tie breaker" rules.clearly big dig deserves to be there over vendetta.take a look at our league voltron.big dig has beaten vendetta, has more points scored than vendetta and has a better division record.3 stats that should put him in t
the playoffs and knock vendetta out.I am done,I am already in so it doesnt matter to me.I just thought that in fairness they may want to take a look at the tie breaker rules because a team that doesnt deserve it is winning out over a team that went sick the last 4 weeks to even manage a possible spot only to get bumped by these rules.
This is my only problem with Flea Flicker. Over the course of the whole season the teams that score the most points and have the best records are the ones who should be in the playoffs. This should be the default setup. Leagues can play games with divisions and this other nonsense manually. We are not the NFL.

If the team with the worse division record sweeps the other, yes

Best divisional record has no bearing on cellar dwellers, he isn't in the same division as any of the other guys with the same record...

You can change the tiebreaker option manually (in most circumstances)
