Median is the middle number if you list all the numbers out. So in a 12 man league this would be top 6 scores scoring (this is what I do in my league)
Average being the total divided by the amount of teams - this case you might have more or less teams above the average depending on the range of scores.

Median is the middle number so the middle score. Rather than the average.

the average is also the middle. so either way you choose the top half get an extra point correct?
