I have submitted this question to Fleaflicker 3 times and have not yet had a response, so I am appealing to the forum in hopes of getting an answer.

The Lock Recently Added players rule on waivers is intended to keep owners from churning through and locking players by adding and immediately dropping them, but the one sentence explanation in the rules is not very clear.

I want to know how long a recently added player in locked in a Can't Drop status.

For example, if I pick up a player on Tuesday, is that player locked for a period of time? If so, how long is the lock in place?

I can't tell from the description if the lock is always applicable, or if it only comes into play 24 hours before the player's game starts.

I would appreciate any player who has the Lock Recently Added Player waiver option in effect to please give a more detailed explanation of when and how long a newly acquired free agent must remain on the roster.

I wish Fleaflicker would just respond to questions like they used to. It seems to be a common complaint.

It only applies if there’s not enough time for another team to claim them.

So you can drop them right away, but not within 24 hours of game time

Why are some players on my roster labeled as Can't Drop?

Owners can gain an unfair advantage by adding and immediately dropping players, preventing others from acquiring them until the following week.

You can prevent this behavior:

  • Player that are added and released on the same day will remain free agents (bypassing the drop waiver requirement). Default after 2021.
  • Lock recently-added players within 24 hours of the start of their game (or 48, depending on your league settings). Default prior to 2021.

To customize, go to League » Settings » Edit Waiver Wire Rules » Prevent Waiver Churning.

OK, so assuming a 24-hour waiver period, it only applies to players that are picked up on Saturday prior to a Sunday night game. If you pick up a player on a Tuesday, and there are no Wednesday games, you can drop him immediately.

So the only real detriment from no lock is that you would be unable to drop a Saturday pickup if you find out on Sunday morning if you find out that they are not playing.

Am I understanding this correctly?

Thanks!
