Jonathan Bernier G TOR 7 Days

Bernier allowed three goals on just 13 shots before being pulled in the first minute of the second period in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

Bernier has gotten into a slump of late, having lost four straight with three consecutive outings allowing three goals and is now 1-6-0 in his last seven starts. The 26-year-old has middling numbers with a 2.76 GAA and .914 save percentage, and should be used only situationally in most fantasy formats.

Bernier will start in net against the Hurricanes on Monday, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports.

Bernier allowed three goals on 33 shots in Saturday's shutout loss to the Blues, and has now had two straight outings surrendering three goals. He will look to snap a three-game skid in net Tuesday against a Hurricanes squad near the bottom of the league in scoring.

Bernier made 30 saves in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Blues.

While he'd like the first goal back, he can't be faulted for the loss. Or the last three losses, for that matter -- his teammates haven't scored a goal on this road trip (that's three games). At this rate, you'll need to keep him on your bench or you'll risk fantasy pain, regardless of his talent.

Bernier will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Blues, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports.

Bernier has lost both of his previous two starts on the Leafs' western road trip, and the odds figure to be stacked against him coming away with the win in St. Louis. The Blues rank second in the league with 3.14 goals per game and have been especially overpowering of late, finding the net four or more times in all but one of their last six games. Keep Bernier parked on the bench Saturday if you're looking to avoid any further damage in the GAA category.

Bernier gave up three goals on 21 shots in a 4-0 loss to the Ducks on Wednesday. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

A pair of second-period goals by Corey Perry put Bernier and the Leafs behind 3-0 in a tough road match, and they weren't able to fine twine on Freddy Andersen, who pitched the shutout. Bernier has now dropped four of his last five starts and although he's got respectable ratios (.916 save percentage, 2.69 GAA) and a firm grasp of the starting gig ahead of James Reimer, he makes for a middle-of-the-pack fantasy backstopper at best given the Buds' inconsistency.

Bernier will receive the start in goal Wednesday against the Ducks, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports.

Bernier turned in an effective showing against his former Los Angeles mates Monday, but found himself on the opposite end of a shutout by Martin Jones. He'll get another tough test on the road Wednesday in Anaheim, who are second in the Western Conference with 60 points on the season.

Bernier stopped 18 of 19 shots but was on the opposite end of a shutout in the Leafs' 2-0 loss to the Kings on Monday.

After a minor rough spell, Bernier has given the Leafs two solid starts in a row. He deserved a better fate Monday night against his former team, and will certainly have his work cut out for him during the remainder of the Leafs' westward road trip. Before returning to Canada, the Leafs will take on Anaheim, San Jose, and St. Louis this week, with Toronto likely to be in the underdog in all those games.

Bernier made 18 saves on 20 shots in Friday's lopsided win over the Blue Jackets.

While it wasn't a busy night for Bernier, it made for a good bounce-back outing, as he had been burned for five goals in a loss to Washington Wednesday. The 26-year-old is now 16-10-3 on the season with a .916 save percentage and 2.73 GAA. While his stats aren't spectacular, Bernier's 16 wins and decent rate stats make him a good fantasy option every game.
