Bernier (hip) is practicing Thursday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier is still recovering from his January hip surgery but could be ready to return shortly. He will battle Mackenzie Blackwood and Vitek Vanecek for playing time and he is likely the third option when he returns. He is on long-term injured reserve and can't return until Nov. 3 against Edmonton at the earliest.

Bernier (hip) was moved to long-term injured reserve Monday by New Jersey.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier underwent hip surgery on Jan. 4 and won't be an option for the Devils for the start of the 2022-23 season. He will need to be on the sidelines for at least 10 games and 24 days of the NHL season after being placed on LTIR.

Bernier (hip) faced shots during practice Thursday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier remains officially on injured reserve as he recovers from hip surgery he underwent in January. The 34-year-old shared a net with camp invitee Isaac Poulter during the Devils' third practice session. Bernier may have a tough time establishing an NHL position in 2022-23, as Mackenzie Blackwood and Vitek Vanecek are likely to hold down the top jobs this year.

Bernier will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his right hip Monday.
EDGE Analysis
With Bernier done for the year, Jon Gillies will take over as the Devils' No. 2 netminder behind Mackenzie Blackwood. Bernier will finish the season having gone 4-4-1 while posting a 3.06 GAA and a .902 save percentage through 10 appearances with New Jersey.

Bernier is dealing with a hip injury that reportedly could have long-term ramifications, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The fact that Lindy Ruff expressed that he was "worried and concerned" regarding the long-term health of Bernier doesn't bode well for him to be back any time soon. The 33-year-old netminder is sporting a 0-3-1 record and 3.82 GAA in his last five appearances. At this point, fantasy players probably should consider finding alternative options between the pipes.

The Devils placed Bernier on injured reserve with a lower-body injury Friday.
EDGE Analysis
It's not yet clear how severe the injury is and how long the 33-year-old might be sidelined. Thus far in 2021, Bernier has posted a 3.06 GAA and .902 save percentage in 10 games. Akira Schmid joins the Devils from AHL Utica to serve as the backup goalie.

Bernier allowed six goals on 32 shots in Friday's 8-4 loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
According to NHL.com, this is the 13th time that Bernier has coughed up six goals or more in an NHL contest. Of course, MacKenzie Blackwood replaced Bernier against the Jets on Friday, and even he had rough go at it with a pair of goals slipping past him on eight shots. The Devils are off until Monday's home clash with the Senators, which gives coach Lindy Ruff ample time to determine who will post up between the pipes in that one.

The veteran netminder is 4-3-1 with a 2.55 GAA and a .914 save percentage through nine appearances this season. He's looking for his first win since Nov. 6.
