Jamie McGinn scored a goal in Colorado's 3-2 loss to Detroit Monday night.

McGinn never got a ton of playing time with the San Jose Sharks, but he's a legitimate top-six forward with the lowly Avalanche. With the goal tonight, he has 16 points in 34 games in this 48-game shortened season. He's worth a look in deeper leagues.

He won't play against Dallas because he's underachieved on a line with Matt Duchene and P.A. Parenteau. Coach Joe Sacco also said, "He needs to play a physical game consistently all the time, not just parts of the game." He's generated just one goal and one assist in his last 14 matches.
