Glass spent the 2018-19 season playing in France for Bordeaux, where he tallied 17 points in 43 appearances. Over the course of his NHL career, the 35-year-old winger tallied 24 goals, 45 assists and 658 PIM in 527 contests for the Panthers, Canucks, Jets, Penguins, Rangers and Flames.

Glass marked zero points, 35 hits and 19 PIM in 16 games.

It's not unusual for a lifetime bottom-six player to struggle on the stat sheet, especially since Glass logged 9:23 of ice time per game. Further, when Glass was recalled to the NHL, he was a healthy scratch 18 times. The 34-year-old winger instead spent more time with AHL Stockton, where he accrued two goals, five points and 45 PIM in 21 games. He'll be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and a team looking for a bruiser will likely take the bait, but he's far from a fantasy asset.

In Glass' prime years, he was a must-have for fantasy owners involved in leagues with a heavy emphasis on scoring hits. The Regina native recording four 200-plus hit campaigns is Exhibit A to that point, but he's been held without a point through seven NHL games this season to remain a one-dimensional forward option. You can ignore Glass, as he's a fragile fantasy commodity at best.

Glass cleared waivers and was assigned to AHL Stockton on Tuesday, Kristen Odland of the Calgary Sun reports.

Considering he has no points in seven games this season, it's not particularly shocking that Glass was left unclaimed off waivers. The career journeyman will likely only see a recall in the wake of an injury to one of Calgary's core, but even then he'll hold the most minimal fantasy value.

Glass has been barely playing for the Flames, so this isn't surprising news. Last year, he only played in 11 games for the Rangers, so this seems to be where Glass' career is now.

He's a checking specialist who's not counted on for offense. While not yet confirmed, look for Glass to reprise his bottom-six role for Tuesday's game against a physical Nashville squad, which currently ranks third in PIM.

The signing of Glass provides good bottom-six depth for Calgary and he will be a welcome addition to its checking line this season. In the fantasy realm, however, this move means very little, as the veteran journeyman's career high in scoring came back in 2011 when he posted a mere 16 points.

Glass spent the majority of the 2016-17 campaign with New York's AHL affiliate, but he also cracked the Rangers' lineup on a few occasions, notching two points in 11 regular-season games. The 33-year-old grinder is nothing more than an organizational depth option for NHL clubs at this stage in his career, so even if he's able to land a contract with the Flames, he'll likely spend most of the 2017-18 season in the minors.

Glass racked up two assists and dished out seven hits in Thursday's Game 4 win over the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

Glass isn't known for his offense, but he's notched four points in the five playoff games he's appeared in. Depth players make all the difference in the playoffs, so it's great for New York that they're able to get production from their fourth line. It's hard to see Glass continuing to produce at this pace if he remains in the lineup, but he'll bring physicality, in addition to the occasional offensive contribution.

Glass scored an unassisted goal in the first period of Wednesday's Game 1 win over Montreal.

After spending the majority of the season in the AHL, Glass was an unexpected hero in Game 1 for the Blueshirts. The gritty winger pulled in a loose puck off an offensive-zone faceoff and slung a nifty backhander over Carey Price's glove. Don't expect to see many more scoresheet appearances from Glass, and he's also a risk to be a healthy scratch if the Rangers decide to dress a lineup with more speed and skill. However, his opportunistic goal might also give him a longer leash. Regardless, he's a low-end fantasy option.
